I've been a bad piggy mom of late due to having work done in the house. All the stuff from the cupboards and loft is in the piggy room, so I can't sit in there to spend time with them the way I usually do. They've basically been fed, watered and cleaned out.
Today I decided to make a point of being with them, fully expecting that they'd be a bit standoffish or more skittish, but quite the reverse happened. Groucho and Little Dude, who usually squeak and pull away, let me pet them a lot, rubbing their head and stoking down their backs. Even Chicco, who usually runs under the bed if you touch him, only pulled away. Bobby and Bailey actually came looking for chin rubs. Have I discovered a new taming technique? Ignore them and they'll appreciate you more?
By the way, once the work is finished, they'll be moving up to a bigger space in the loft (and I'll have a spare room back for guests), so they're being ignored in their own best interests.

I’m not sure I don’t think I could ignore my Fiona’s pigs for that long anyway

We all have busy weeks, and it isn't always possible to spend lots of time with them (well not as much as I would like anyway), but it sounds like it will be for the best in the long term.

I think they are just appreciating your company more. Hope they like their new des res once it’s ready for them.

Lucky piggies. They'll love the extra room. Sounds like they are missing you, absence is supposed to make the heart fonder!
When I've been away to stay at my daughters though mine ignore me when I come home. I suspect because they get extra treats when I'm not here!
