Not wheeking?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, and I did a quick search but I couldn't find exactly what I'm looking for, but my piggies never wheek! I have had them around a month now, and they are totally normal in every way, they popcorn, run laps, get excited at rustling bags etc but they have never wheeked? I'm probably being selfish at wanting them to be excited by me, but are mine unusual in this or do a lot of piggies not wheek? x
 
they probably do when you're not around, we only know they do because one of us is usually sat watching tv while the other goes to get the veg and they start hehe usually once the veg giver comes back in the room they just look startled and run away :)

Very rarely do they sit there making a ton of noise for us both to hear
 
Some of mine don't wheek, where others positively shout. I had a boy for over 5 years & never heard him wheek once. :)
 
Some are just extra greedy and loud and will always be wheeking for food, some don't do it much.

Or maybe they will start up after a while, when they get more confident in demanding food! rolleyes :))
 
I have some who constantly wheek *cough* Bounty, and then I have some who hardly have wheek - such as Jake. Some of my previous boars never spoke.
 
my mums piggy never wheeks, and i have had one before that never wheeked. :(

Take them back and exchange them :))
 
I'll swap, mine don't know how to be quiet. If they didn't wheek I could stay in bed longer anyone want to swap?
 
One of my pigs hardly ever wheeks, i think its because he lets the other one do all the wheeking. I do catch him wheeking now and again when he gets REALLY excited, other than that he is quiet. I think its just down to their personalities and I'm sure that with time they will find their little voices :))
 
Yes, Rex seems to be spokesman for my crew! Lol :) he always decides when it's dinnertime!

noooooo id never get sick of hearing mine wheeking i love it, its precious.

Why dont you play them vids of pigs wheeking from youtube on your computer and let them hear what they are meant to do, i know mine always run round the cage like idiots when i do that, it might encourage them?

I have done that but I didn't want to say in case it was bad lol I was worried about confusing them! I shall try it again then, see if they find their wee voices, thank you :))
 
no probs love, like i say its special, and i would miss it hugely if i didnt get my daily piggy wheeks x)x)

ps/ the lengths we will go to to accommodate our piggies.....youtube vids bah lol
