No pain while weeing I don't think but was creamy coloured...anyone got any reccomendations for low calcium diet? Like what veggies, fruit I should or shouldn't give them. I'm super worried because I haven't been using fleece for very long and I wouldn't have noticed this with wood shavings :( she also has coughed 2-3 times today :/ she was eating tho could it have been trapped food?

Coughing could just be it getting stuck or going down the wrong hole like it sometimes can with us. And by milky white what do you mean? As in there is white spots being left on the fleece? That is a calcium deposit and isn't too alarming. How many is there and how frequent? Guinea pigs do have the odd wee where calcium is seen it's usually only if it is regular that you need to change the diet.

If it's leaving white stains on the fleece then it will be calcium that has been passed in her wee. This is much better that being retained in her body. Veggies that should be removed from her everyday diet are things such as cabbage, broccoli (florets & stalk), cauli (leaves), spinach, parsley & coriander. Best veggie to give her is kale because even though it has similar % of calcium to the others,it has the perfect mix of calcium, magnesium & phosphates which allow a safe uptake of calcium which they need for bones & teeth x

Sometimes I notice a bit of creamy stuff on the fleece but that's the first time I've seen Noodles wee be creamy white coloured like coming out :/

I've never been worried about it until today as I have seen other people's posts and never really thought it was too much to worry about. This is tricky now as my new pig Hudson only eats certain veg :(

I was the same when I moved Mo from sawdust to fleece. These white dots kept popping up and I was worried. Fruit should only be given around once a week because of its high sugar content - for example Mo gets a thumb sized piece of banana once a week or an orange segment. Veg like: bell peppers, cucumber, lettuce, grass -though make sure you lead up to it don't just give them a huge handful or they'll get bloat and herbs- are great. Obviously don't stop giving broccoli or carrots or cabbage becuase these are good too but think of them like chocolate for piggies.

Oxbow do urinary support pellets that can be given if a piggy secretes a lot of calcium quite a lot and it prevents stones from developing. I haven't used it myself but I've heard a few good things about it via other piggy owners

Is anyone able to give me an example of the cup of veg the pigs should have daily. I hate to feel like I am not caring for them properly :( had such a bad day today I am beside myself worrying about them now too :( x
