I feel terrible as so many of my piggies have been poorly lately, I forever seem to be here asking questions like a GP hypochondriac or something, but...
I have noticed that Feather has been putting on weight over the last month or so. I thought it was because following the death of Pepper, who was the boss pig, Feather became the leader and therefore has had more rights to the food bowl etc… hence was getting a bit porky. She has gained weight all over and bulked out a lot.
Today however I have noticed that many of her poo’s are looking smaller than normal, like Pepper’s were when she had bloat. When I investigated Fea’s tummy it was all tight and swollen, although nowhere near as much as Peps was when she completely stopped eating.
Feather seems bright, but I just don’t know what to do. I have just given her 0.2ml of Infacol. Only a small dose as when I gave Pep 0.5ml Infacol she died very shortly after so I’m very cautious about using it (think she was heading over the bridge by then anyway tho…).
I don’t have any Buscopan and think I need to get it when the chemists are open as tesco doesn’t sell it on the normal shelf. What I don’t understand about Buscopan is it relieves the pain and tension, but does it inhibit the natural movement of the gut, therefore making things worse? I guess not or it wouldn’t be successful in stopping bloat.
I don’t know what to try with changing diet. The guineas all have unlimited good quality hay, burgess excel pellets and 3 types of veg (carrots, cabbage, kale, apples etc…) per day, and have 30 min on the grass in good weather. Why is this happening? 8...
p.s. sorry for rambling
