My Piggy Jacko (5 and a half years old) had been losing weight for a few months, he hadn't been eating his nuggets (which he used to LOVE) but ate fresh food and hay at a normal rate(as well as water) the vet suggested he may need dental work and when he had it done they did find sharp edged teeth at the back, it's been a number of days since the dental work and he still hasn't eaten more than a few nuggets. I even tried excel nuggets instead of the Pets at home ones he's accustomed to, but nope he's not fancying those either. Even though he's eating and drinking normally otherwise I can't help but be worried sick over this nugget dilemma, it's like he's gone off them but I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Maybe they're still a little too hard for him to bite. Have you tried soaking them a little in warm water to make them softer? He might be more willing to take them then.

Hmmmm not quiet sure, Soak them in some water, Might be easier for him to eat? I'll tag some people for you that are experts at illness :)

Thank you very much! I'll try soaking them today see if that makes a difference, he's a fussy food pig anyway, one day he likes something and the next he doesn't  But this has continued over a while, do I contact the people you have tagged or will they now be able to see my post (I'm inexperienced with forums, sorry)

They'll get a notification and then will read your posts.

Its worth trying soaking them. He might want to eat them, but just can't because it hurts to bite them?

I agree with soaking the nuggets in warm water. Have you taken him to a vet, it really should be done if he's been losing weight?

Yes we did and he had dental work last week after the consultation, it's since then he's still been off the nuggets
