Nugget got a friend!

I got Nugget as a single guinea pig as he was the only one left. I researched how to introduce him to another male and everything told me how difficult it'd be, how they'd fight etc. Anyway, I got an 8 week old male guinea pig (just a little ball of fluff) and introduced him to my 4 month old Nugget and they LOVE each other! I had towels at the ready to pull them apart, should they fight, and put them on neutral territory etc. Anyway, after the initial sniffing, mounting and a bit of chasing (and a couple of light nips from the fluff ball, surprisingly) it's like they've been together all their lives. It's so lovely to see and Nugget just couldn't be happier! Nugget has been happy enough to share all his things and they've been sleeping on top of each other in Nuggets bed happily (something I wasn't sure would work out). I put another bed in so they could each have their own but they've chosen to share the one. They're currently lying on top of each other sleeping and both seem to be so happy! The fight for dominance at the start was quite funny to see- the tiny little fluff ball trying to mount and chase huge Nugget! Things couldn't be better for the both of them now and I'm soo glad I decided to get Nugget a friend :) now just to think of a name...

Great News! So pleased it is working out well and yes Lisaali I agree PIGTURES!! :))
 
I've just seen Nugget popcorn for the first time! So obviously very happy :)!

So pleased for you.I got a new baby today as lost one of a pair on saturday so hoping they get on. Tried with two sows yesterday and she wasn.t having it so rescue lady suggested putting a baby in so fingers crossed
 
Got some pictures!

The first ones are of them seeing each other for the first time in the middle of the living room floor so it was neutral territory. I'll also put what I'm sure Nugget was thinking at the time ;-)!

"Wait, let me just check that butt once more"




"Yeah, alright, I'll take him...now stop with all the photos, you're embarrassing me in front of my friend!"

Here are some photos now they've got used to each other:




Here's a picture of them both in bed with a fluffy pillow on top (Nugget likes to crawl in between the pillow and the bed). It's like a guinea pig sandwich!

Both of them sharing the tunnel even though there's another one :)

I love your story line...it is so adorable. I am so happy to see them interacting with each other. What a wonderful sight to see.
