What nuggets/ pellets do u all feed your piggies ? I'm currently using pets at home ones but i just read that you cant fees these once they hit 6 months old because they contain too much alfalfa?

I use Excel pellets for my guinea pigs. They are suitable for all ages.
The way I have switched pellets before is to do it gradually - so 90% of your normal pellets to 10% new pellets and then gradually reduce the old pellets and increase new pellets over a period of a couple of weeks to get them used to the new ones.

It is generally considered now that grainless pellets are the way to go, but really it is down to personal choice and what your piggies will eat. I am currently feeding Science Selective grainless and Versale Laga Complete.Nugget Comparison Chart

I use this type from Pets At Home and my two boars now 8 months old still eat them.
The bag apparently says its made up of 80% hay and rich in alfalfa, so should I still be feeding them at their age?
It has a bad review but my piggies seem to be with them.

Pets@Home are now selling Science Selective Naturals Grain-free, 1.5kg for £5.29 (Buy one get one half price).
I going tonight to buy some and see if my piggies like them if they are going to be healthier for them.

Mine have Harringtons Nuggets and love them. I swapped them over from P@H nuggets.

I use a selection, usually selective naturals grain free, harringtons, versele laga cavia complete, rosewood naturals meadow menu and some plain grass pellets.

Mine came from PAH so were on Pah nuggets but I bought some Harrington’s to mix in and they just picked the Harrington’s out and left the Pah nuggets 🙈 My rabbits do well on Harrington’s so thought I’d try it for the pigs.

I ring the changes with nuggets. It doesn't seem to be the way to go though, but my piggies don't get a lot, and I start mixing the new ones in until the old bag is finished. At the moment they are on Harringtons, but the last batch was Tesco's own brand. They do seem to prefer the Harringtons. I tried them with Science Selective grain free, but they weren't keen on them.
