Oh Honey :'( :'(

Really feel for you. He was a cute little man. How could it be your fault?

You loved him and cared for him and I'm sure spoiled him rotten. You can't pre-empt everything. I'm sure you did all you could to give him a happy and long life.

Thinking of you and sending you lots of sympathy :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Sleep well gorgeous boy xx

awww nuts rest in peace cutie pie! 0:)

don't blame yourself hunny there is no way you are to blame 98)

thinking of you :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thankyou :'(

If i noticed before i wnet out this morning he would have had water atleast but he's probably de-hydrated and died, i really feel sick now :'( :'(

It's not been that warm today sweetheart. I doubt very much that he would have de-hydrated that fast. How old was he?
:smitten: :smitten:

We adopted him last year i think, he was apparantly 4 months but he was really big so we think he was older so over a year atleast :'(

What a gorgeous little man! :smitten: Such a sweet little face! :smitten:

You mustn't blame yourself! I'm sure not having water for such a short while didn't cause this at all. He was clearly loved very much! :smitten:

Hugs

Debbie xx

rip Nuts x I'm sure it wasn't your fault x

It could have been anything then love. A hammy of that age would dehydrate in just one day. It can't be your fault. Animals are very good at hiding when they are not well so chances are you never would have noticed even if you had gone out.

Don't blame yourself. Just remember all the love you have given him, and how much joy you brought to his little life when you adopted him. I'm sure in his own hammy little way he was glad you came and helped him. Keep all the good memories in your head sweetheart and don't linger on what if's.

Hugs and sympathy to you xx

Aww dont blame yourself sweetheart. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the water.
Run free little man, My little piglet will be waiting for him at the bridge x

Sorry sweetie. Should say WOULD NOT dehydrate in just one day. :embarassed:

Thankyou, i'm sure he enjoed the last of his life here rather than P@H adoption as a dumpee :smitten: :smitten: I just found we adopted him at 4months in October making him roughly 13 months but since he was huge we think he was older he could havebeen 13 months and above :'(

RIP Nuts 0:) :smitten: :smitten:

My dad really adopted him but mum and dad are out, we just bought him a new cage a few weeks ago, hardly any time to enjoy it :'(

I'm so sorry about your loss.
Its NOT your fault, a few hours without water wont have killed him, please dont blame yourself on this.
Sounds like he was an oldie anyway and all of the oldies Ive ever had drank alot less than usual anyway.
My hamster is around about 16-17 months old (from what the pet shop told me when I got her anyway) and was big from the day we got her, so she could even be a little older.
All she wants to do is sleep, she has the odd little drink of water here and there but not as much as Id like to see and she is still very healthy looking.
Having said that, I expect to find her dead every day now, I'm just expecting it now, she is just so old and slow, it will hurt like hell to lose her but I'm expecting it any day.
So please, dont blame yourself, there was likely something either hidden or it was just his time.
In my favourite movie Groundhog Day, the nurse says to Bill Murrays character "sometimes people just die, it was just his time".
I think that that is the case with your little one.
I hope that your pain is bearable and that your good memories sooth your pain.
xx Steph xx

So sorry to hear about Nuts. He was gorgeous. It was NOT your fault. Rodents such as hamsters and gerbils can go a few days without water. My guessing is that he's probably died from old age.

Agree with everyone else Kezza, don't beat yourself up love. Remember you gave him a forever home when no one else wanted him. Sleep well Nuts.
