I picked up my new adorable baby guinea pig, Oakley, from Milhaven today. He is the sweetest little guy and very snuggly! Joanne was really helpful in offering advice on pairing him with my older pig, Gizmo, and I'm happy to report that they are getting on amazingly well! I'm very happy :))
I will be returning to Milhaven in the near future no doubt!
So...here is my new addition, Oakley....

Could I ask how long the adoption process took you? I'm getting two piggies after Christmas and I'm not sure how long it all takes getting them from a rescue as I never have before. I understand there is usually a home visit first....

I already had 12 piggies, two of which were from Milhaven, so I have been through the adoption process before. I contacted Joanne and explained that I would like a friend for a recent pig that I took in. Joanne explained that she had just rescued 40 piggies and there were some babies...so, I emailed photo's of the cage where they will be kept. I filled in a form and then Joanne arranged for me to meet Oakley. This probably took afew days, but I suppose it's different for every rescue and family.
It was a painless process and Joanne was extremely helpful and accomodating.
