Hi All,

Haven't posted for a while but I thought I'd update on the two oldies I took n last March.

Both Stella and Guiness are going strong. Must admit that I'm surprised as when we found that Stella had a number of tumours and then she developed breathing problems that the vet felt was either heart failure or Mets on her lungs I thought it wasn't looking good at all. But her main tumour is only growing slowly and diuretics every other day have improved her breathing no end. Luckily she takes them really well as most small and furries would spit them out or bite in her situation.

Guiness has a perisitant skin condition - it's not fungal and she's been treated for mites without much success. It could just be some sort of allergy as it calms right down after a bath with one of the gorgeous guineas shampoos. First time I bathed her I was terrified as she's so elderly and put up such a fight. But she's coming to terms with a bath every so often.

They both enjoy a run out on the lawn - they have to share with Prissie and Marmaduke and we can safely say there's no love lost. But it's a big run so they can get away from each other.

On the subject of my other two piggies - Maramduke gets more magnificent (read porky) by the day despite most of his diet being hay or grass and Prissie seems to get younger. I keep her fur cropped really short and she's much happier - I even saw her having a little run outside today. I though aliens had replaced her :)

Fingers crossed everyone will carry on for some time yet. it's been hard work getting their health sorted, but they seem content now.

You are doing a truly splendid job with all your old ladies! No wonder are they perking up and enjoying their new lease of life so much! :))

Lovely to hear how everyone is getting on. Great that you could take the two old girls in as it sounds like life is good for them. :)
