Hi everyone! Eddie is 7 and during his recent weigh in he’s now at 892 grams (previously his weight fluctuates between 900 - 950 grams) which I assume comes from his age as he is otherwise very healthy. I was wondering if I should give him oat hay to fatten him up a bit? His hindquarters are boney which I’ve heard is normal for his age but I want to know if I should be trying to get him to gain weight, or if this is just part of aging I should accept. He’s had Timothy hay all his life and sometimes gets oats for treats, but I was wondering if he should get some oat hay? He also doesn’t get pellets due to calcium sensitivities. Thanks!

Hello I’m not sure about oat hay - someone with that advice will be along I’m sure - I just wanted to say I was advised by Wood Green animal charity to use readigrass to help put weight on ( and keep it on) my skinny pig - I’ve a nearly 6 year old piggy that eats it too and whose weight is stable. I also give him Johnson4Joints to keep him moving
Start with a little bit of readigrass as it’s quite rich 🥰

I feed him a handful of grass cut from my yard everyday, is that the same as Readigrass?
