Junior Guinea Pig
Hi all,
I hope all your guineas are in fine fettle! Rollie is recovering from "moderate" bloat. Started on Sunday evening. Rushed him to our vets who game him a shot of vomend. We already had a stash of zantac syrup and metacam (thank you Simon!) He went back yesterday for another shot of vomend. He's on twice daily 0.3ml of metacam and thrice daily 0.4ml of zantac as well as fibreplex and cc feeds 4 times a day. Restricted his diet to just hay, water and nuggets (although he's not eating nuggets) He is, however, eating hay. His guts are moving as we're seeing little poops.
My query is, he's normally a lover of oats and fresh grass. Is he able to have either of these? I don't want to bring in anything that might aggravate his bloat as I know he's still got a long way to go. Anyone with any experience that could help or advise would be much appreciated.
