Hi all!
My OH is accusing me of being obsessed with the piggys.
I'm always cuddling them, cleaning them out, looking for new toys/food for them when we go shopping and taking pigtures.
I've only had them for a few wheeks, but they are so interesting and cute I can't help but just want to fuss over them.
He was the same when we got rats, snakes and the bearded dragon so it's perfectly natural behaviour...right? Personally, I just think I'm being a caring mum :))

Are you guys the same or am I a little tiny bit obsessed?

Oh no my dear - you are perfectly normal! Our whole world revolves around the piggies. MrS even phones me at lunch time on my days off to ask how they are - he doesn't even ask if I'm ok. We then argue in the evening about who is going to give them their 'wheeky-bag' (salad from a bag for supper - scrunch it and it makes them wheek - hence 'wheeky-bag'). I cant wait for pay day each month so I can buy them something new. Already have their Christmas present planned - haven't even thought about anyone else.

How 2 little furballs can take over your lives is beyond me but they manage it!

Haha! I'm so glad I'm not the only one.
He doesn't fuss over them until it's lap time. Then he's all "I want a piggy cuddle!". He gets all gooey over them until one climbs on my chest and the other finds a warm spot in the crook of my arm. That's when the sulk sets in and he calls them traitors and mummy's boys haha!

My other half thinks I am, I do have 23 boys though but on a daily basis they only take a few hours of my time. He had his guitar and martial arts. You should have seen his face when I mentioned it was ones birthday on the 20th and I was having a piggy party for him :))

Hahahahahah! Piggy Party! Love it!

MrS thought they were awful when I first got them and now in the evening he's all 'come here piggle, Daddy wants a cuddle'

23 boys? Wow, they must take over your whole house!
I love the idea of a piggy party! A little 'Carrot Cake' in a Wheeky bag... haha! :))

My boyfriend says I'm obsessed and he pretends not to show interest. Although there have been times when I've got a Piggie out for a cuddle. He would pinch the Piggie off me and start cuddling her.

My boyfriend is the same. He claims to hate them but if I leave the room I hear him talking to them lol

I think it's impossible for anyone to hate Guinea pigs. They are way too sweet! Maybe just jealous that you spend lots of time fussing with them?

My hubby says I'm obsessed but he has sly looks at them as he goes past their room and he came home with a bag of lettuce leaves from the shop necause they wete reduced.Fizz was at the vets today and as soon as I got back he wanted every detail. He didn't bat an eyelid when I said she needed the vet even tjough we are snapped.Hes on the sick again

It's very catching, mine have virtually taken over my life.

They're just toooo cute! Little things with no necks, hehe. I get mine out every night and look forward to cuddles as soon as I get home - they have nicknames!

I was so heartbroken when Wheatley went missing last week I cried for days and have only just managed to get around to the fact he's not coming back :( The remaining one isn't half as sweet, he acts all hard man. Wheatley used to stand on his hind legs at the cage door on a morning til we rubbed noses, and he'd go nuts at the sound of the hay bag rustling! He's also go to sleep in the crook of my arm. Macheté (the remaining one) doesn't bat an eyelid and just poos everywhere!

HAHA love the 'wheeky bag' - I'm nicking that one!

Aww poor Wheatley! I remember reading your post, it was so heart breaking. I really hoped he would make safe (slightly less fluffy) return :( Are you getting Machete a new friend?

I am exactly the same lol my OH probably thinks I'm abit crackers, especially when I refer to myself as Mummy, but I dont care I'm am their Human mummy lol he likes to think that they r mine and he isnt bothered but Ive seen him dropping in extra treats lol

My adult son thinks I'm obsessed with my 2 boys. I am forever looking for something that might be good for the piggies no matter what shop I'm in or the actual purpose of the shop. Not to mention constantly trolling online including this forum for piggy things to buy. Recently at my local hardware shop I discovered a 3 foot L x 2 foot W x 2 foot H 8 wheeled blue plastic toy box which I bought to transport the boys from cage to sofa to floor pen & so on as it fits 2 cuddle cups & 2 piggies perfectly (the cuddle cups are used to get them in & out of their cage). Discarded the lid and added a handle so I could comfortably wheel the vehicle around the house. My adult son popped in one day just as I was wheeling them from their cage to the sofa for lap time. He fell over laughing and said to the boys "I hope you know you are the luckiest guinea pigs in the world". To me he said "only you would think of this". So, you are in good company even if I do say so myself!

Brilliant! I thought I was bad saving every cardboard box from the bin at work to take home for the boys playtime! My mum also thinks I'm going a little nuts. I have to take them with me to hers over xmas. I asked if I could set up the playpen in her dining room, to which she asked if they couldn't just stay in their house fit a few days. Err....nope. They neeeeeeeeeed their play and lap time. So I compromised to let then run free in her bathroom for a couple of hours each day I'm there :))

I have been wondering the same about myself, all I talk about are my piggies mice and hamster - mainly my piggies. I take photos of them constantly and film them on my phone I'm freakily obsessed too. I mainly spend every day on this forum because people in my real life are sick o death of hearing about them and i still need someone to talk to about them!

I know exactly what you mean. I managed not to speak to anyone at work about the pigs until 3 o'clock yesterday....that was a big effort! I'm always yakking on about how adorable they are and all the funny things they do. It's like piggy turrets (if that's how it's spelled.....)
