Occasional clicking noises

I am new to the forum and created an account because of a concern with my baby guinea. He makes clicking noises occasionally, mostly while I hold him and he will also sometimes let out what seems to be a sneeze. The clicking sounds sort of like tapping on a table. I just got him yesterday and he does not seem to be acting out of the ordinary, he is eating drinking and making happy noises. Is this something i should be concerned with?

Any issues with breathing need to be checked by a vet to check for the start of a respiratory infection.

Does he live with another guinea pig? If not, once you have ensured that he is healthy, then please do look into getting him a character compatible male friend. Guinea pigs are highly social and should never be kept alone.

Thank you for the quick response. I took him back to the reputable pet shop I got him from and they examined him and determined it was teeth chattering from stress. Will continue to keep a close eye on him, thanks again.

I never really find teeth chattering to sound like the tapping of a table? Here is a video of teeth chattering so you can compare (this is not my guinea pig):

I would take your piggy to another vet just in case. Also, do you have a solo piggy? As said above, guinea pigs are social herd animals, and NEED a same sex companion. Here are two threads to look over (click the green): Single Guinea Pigs - Challenges and Responsibilities

I would take him to a vet of my own choice for a general health check. And then make plans to get him a cage mate as soon as possible. Please check yourself that he is in fact a male. Then you can pair him with another boy. Best way would be to find a rescue that does boar dating so he can pick his own friend.
