I have obsessive compulsive disorder.

Usually i am ok because i just change clothes after cuddles and wash up well.

But when i find a stray poop on the floor or couch my ocd flares and i feel like i must scrub everything.

Is guinea pig poop dangerous? Can it make humans sick? Its not like i dont know what they eat...but it still really bothers me and I'm worried it will start making it difficult for me to take them out of their cage (and they dont come out every day as it is).

I love my pigs please dont get me wrong. I guess i just want to know how everyone deals with poos. (And pees too).

Oh and just for some info, i also treat them with once a month revolution (de wormer, flea and tick, fungus...it does it all)

Well, I don't have OCD but I do like to be really clean, I have just learnt to "let go"-pigs produce an awful lot of poo and wee, and you need to appreciate that you will never be truly totally on top of it. Literally, as soon as I clean mine out, within 2 minutes about 5 poos appear on the clean fleece! It's just how pigs are, I am afraid...

I know how Hard it is to have OCD I suffer from it myself but no guinea pig poo cant harm you it's completely different to cat and dog poo :) Even I can pick guinea pig poo up with my hand ( that took a while )

I have certain things I am funny about. Pencil crayons being ordered in a rainbow etc. I use so many baby wipes when I am on my allotment so my hands stay clean but piggy poop and wee never bothers me. Poop is picked up by hand and Nico widdling on me earlier was "eh, it will dry". Cat trays are another story, yucky, lots of hand washing needed.

Mine don't wee on me, that would probably freak me out because I hate the feeling of being wet in my clothes. (OH spilled a drink on me once and I completely freaked.) But my OCD-like symptoms are flared up mostly by feelings and textures. As long as pig poo isn't brand-spankin' fresh and is dry, I pick up the odd piece literally with my bare hands. It completely grosses my boyfriend out, but because I know it's basically compressed hay and it feels dry and solid it doesn't bother me.

Ive made the mistake of picking up a wet poo once. It was terrible.
