Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone,
I lost one of my guinea companions last Friday to suspected URI. She lived with 3 other gps who all seem fine and are (touch wood) showing no symptoms (I had cleaned them out and quarantined the ill gp as soon as she displayed symptoms).
However one of my 6 year old boars from a separate pen a few metres away is now having intermittent wheezing episodes, for the past two days after breakfast and once or twice at night. Each time he eventually he does a sneeze which seems to clear him out and he goes back to normal. He is eating well, as usual, and is not eating anything different from his usual breakfast veg, nuggets and hay. He has done this every now and then before, but not with this intensity.
He has seen a (very good and trusted) vet yesterday evening, and no abnormality could be heard when listening to chest, heart and throat. However he did not display the wheezing behaviour at the vet. For now I am keeping him quarantined from his companion.
I have posted some videos on youtube of his breathing and wondered if anyone else has seen this behaviour and can offer any advice please?

Many thanks,
