Does anyone have any experience of a "clingy" piggie.
My Caramel was in her indoor run last night and for the second night in a row she tried to jump over it to get on my lap. I picked her up and she just kept climbing up to sit on my chest. Even when I put Marty Pig on a cushion with her she just used him as a pillow and stared at me.

I know something is not right with her but I have no clue what it is... she usually loves a short cuddle but never this needy and restless.

any ideas?

I don't mean to alarm you, but I find with any animal they become clingy when unwell. I maybe way off but I think any change in behaviour needs monitoring closely. Especially as people believe pigs hide there illnesses so well.

Do you weigh her?

How is she with the other pigs?

Finally is she eating, the same as usual?

All these things I look out for in relation to illnesses. You could say I'm overprotective but I would rather be safe than sorry.

You may just find shes warmed to you more, and considers you her friend rather than the other pigs, or may think I know how to get food :))!

She's just the same in all ways - weight stable around 1kg, fine with the other pigs has grown closer to Marty Pig and grooms him, eating the same as usual, nothing that looks like an illness

I too am overprotective - my piggies are my lifeline so I worry, probs more than i need to!

:)), I know that feeling although I have became better, when I first got pigs I swear I may illnesses up in my head! Anything, I was a nightmare. Much better now though!

I think it may just be a case of feeling safer with you, and your probably quite a good seat for her :) x

I wouldn't say caramel is good for guinea pigs, and I certainly would not give caramel to a guinea pig.
