Ode to the Rescue Pig.
I wanted to write this poem, a poem just for you.
It’s a story wheeked by all those pigs, waiting at the rescue.
I’m not the latest breed of pig, and I have a funny little quiff
But i think that’s what makes me special,
I am unique sort of piggie, one that the breeders can’t produce.
I come with a tale, I have been dumped, abandoned and neglected.
But i do hope you can make my story have a happy ever after.
I may not be a special breed of pig, but I promise to love you all the same.
And I'm just like any other pig, I popcorn, wheek, munch and can even impersonate a mop!
Please consider adopting me today, instead of going to the petshop.
So don’t leave us waiting in the wings.
We need a home too, and it’s a life with you we’ve always dreamed...
and will you make a rescues pigs’ dream come true?
Why Rescue and not buy.
*Rescues have a variety of breeds, ages and sizes- there is lots and lots to choose from, including babies!
*Rescues have bonded pairs, trios and herds. Ready made furry families for you to take home and enjoy.
*They will help you find the perfect piggie or two for you, whether that be a cuddly lap pig or an enjoyable excitable young piggle.
*They help you find the perfect partner for your single, recently bereaved or lonely piggie!
*Rescues often only specialise in one type of pet– ie solely guinea pig rescues, so you get the best advice and information from a very knowledgeable and experienced owner.
*Your pig will have a home for life, as most rescues offer a forever home for them if you find yourself unable to look after your piggie.
*You can donated in pennies or in hay, equipment, bedding or food.
*Rescues aren’t money orientated, the piggies are their 1st priority.
*They are more than happy and willing to give you all the advice you may need on any aspect of piggie care.
*You’re not only giving your piggie a new happier life your also creating space in the rescue for another needy piggie to have a warm comfortable place to call home.
*Any piggie who doesn’t find a new home will be loved, cared for and have a long happy life in the rescue.
*They are all given a clean bill of health before going home to you.
*Any piggie rehomed to you won’t be pregnant, or ill.
*Rescues will guide and advice you through the steps of becoming a guinea pig owner!
*And last but not least, rescues care.
They work tirelessly round the clock for these enchanting creatures, they look after ill, elderly and dying guinea pigs during the night and travel to vets, homes and fosterers to make sure that they can provide the best for the guinea pigs, only funded through kind and generous donations and their own pocket. Rescues don’t make money, the pennies raised goes straight back into the care of the animals through food, equipment, housing, bedding and medical needs. Rescues will always look after any guinea pig that comes into their care, and they are in desperate need of loving new owners to provide a happy ever after for one of their piggies who, potentially, haven’t had the best starts to life.
Can you say the same for pet shops?
Please consider adopting from a reputable rescue today.
