As some of you may already know, my Bradley hasn't been well for nearly two weeks now. First it was sloppy poops, then struggling to poop at all, bloat like symptoms really. He perked up with medication from the vets but has now ballooned again and although he's pooping a bit it's not nearly the amount he should be doing. I've been so wrapped up in Bradley that I didn't notice Barney looking rounder than usual, picked him up last night and his back end literally feels heavy and solid like a brick, if he wasn't a boy I'd swear he was pregnant, he looks ready to pop!

They're both still eating, though I think not quite so much as usual and now their little tummies feel full of fluid. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, I feed them right and they never have to much veg. They get lap time and run time yet they seem plagued with problems - their digestion and recurring fungal skin problems. My other pig Rodney is on exactly the same diet and he's fine, my mum thinks that maybe Bradley and Barney's problems are genetic somehow, seeing as they're brothers?

So now I have to take both of my boys to the vets, I really don't hold out much hope for Barney, his swollen, fluidy tummy has come about so sudden. I can hear it gurgling. I feel like such a bad owner 8...

Come back and both boys are on fibreplex to relieve their bloating and get everything moving along nicely.

I'm now just feeding them exclusively on excel pellets instead of their regular muesli as it seems they have aquired an intolerance to it, I also never realised just how bad muesli could be for them, my particular brand that I fed before was just 10% fibre compared to the 36% fibre in excel. I was recommended excel by my vet and so far they seem to like it, introducing it slowly though. Just a bit here and there.

I can't believe 2 of my pigs have had bloat! I must be unlucky.

hopefully they'll do better on the excel - can i ask what muesli you were feeding them?

It was Tesco muesli, not the value stuff but the other stuff that used to be in a purple bag...I'm ashamed to say that they loved it and the main reason I bought it was because it was cheap :red

I will never put any pig of mine on muesli, ever.
