Awws, good luck at the vets, i hope everything goes well, huggles to the little fella from me and the boys xx

hes doing fine acording to the vets, his comment was ' how you gettin this weight on him so quick' lol but its a ** thing so that ok, he doesnt have ring worm, it is just the mites that are causin all the baldness, they took some of his fur out ( if he wasnt loosing enough already lol) to have a ** look at it , but as far as vet said hes doing pretty well

Oh thats great news! Hope he gets better soon. Lots of luck with his treatment :)

I'm really happy, but vet said its gonna take months for his hair to re grow, poor thing he looks like right scraggy mess lol

how have they checked its not ringworm?

if they did a skin scraping its not always a true result and it also takes a while for the results to come back has they have to see if anything grows on it which can take days..

i would still treat with the nizoral shampoo like i said in my other post..

but if you have treated with ivermectin then you need to wait 48hoursafter ivermectin before bathing him..

how has he been given ivermectin? topical or injected? i would recommend injected in a case where they are really scabby and really suffering from the mites..

also if he is getting the right treatment it will not take months for the hair to re-grow you should see results in a matter of 2 - 3 wks x

i have had him 3 weeks tomorow, he had his 1t treatment the day after i had him, he has had 2 so far, they put it on the bk of his neck, they giving him a 2 weeks gap betwee n the last nnext soit will be next week he has the 3rd one, he sdays it doesnt look anythink like ring worm, he says it looks like mites. hes just checking the hair for mites i think. i got to ring friday. n as fgor the shampoo is he ok to have that at only 7 weeks old?

I would wait with shampoos unless things are really bad and a bath is unavoidable.

PS: It usually doesn't take THAT long for hair to grow back and it usually grows pretty quickly.

what are they using ivermectin? or someting else to clear the mites?

he will be ok to have a bath in nizoral shampoo, you can buy it from the chemist its a human shampoo, i have used it on many rescues with fungal.

when you pull the hair does it have tufts of skin attached to the bottom of it?

also regarding mites you cant activly see them unless its walking dandruff, has he been checked for lice at all? these look like little light brown broken bits of hay in the hair which do move!

regard ivermectin the treatment is every 7-10 days i do every 7 days for 3 treatments, i dont leave it l.onger than 10 days has the cycle just starts again ie eggs hatching etc..

but this depends on if it is ivermectin or something else x
