Off to the vets with Eleanor. Lumps

If ovarian cysts are big enough to cause trouble, they will show up as slightly moveable balls on the sides/belly in front of the back legs (not to be mistaken for fat balls sitting on the sides).

Sorry, not sure lovely.

Will they do an ultrasound to check for cysts? Usually you can feel them, i can feel Minnies. xx

The ones I could feel were on her belly and are definitely not fatty lumps and they were kind of movable. I just can't believe how fast they have appeared :(

I am eagerly sat here waiting for the phone to ring as they should be starting to bring her round.

I'm kind of wishing I didn't know what happens behind the scenes now!

Eleanor is up and about. They just want to keep her for a couple of hours to check she is eating and drinking. I am collecting her at 3.20pm when Jonathan will talk to me :...

For now, I am just relieved she has made it through the GA xx

I'm so glad she made it through the GA. Obviously my boys whiffles of wellness worked! Now I'm send gentle cuddles! Hopefully you will find out what these mystery lumps are soon. It is such a worry not knowing these things.

Glad to hear she's doing well!

Fingers and paws still firmly crossed here for the results!

Glad to hear it Claire, but it will be even better when she's safely back home again.

It is wonderful she is up and moving about. I hope she is soon home with you.

Ellie is now home and settling down upstairs in the back room. She has eaten some hay, little gem, pepper, celery and had a drink.

Her and Eliza are currently bedded on fleece in a very large shallow storage box. It isn't ideal but it is better than nothing as I need to keep her indoors over the weekend. Am I ok to have Erin and Ena with her too? She has already seen and met them again and they didn't bother her. I just feel guilty keeping Erin and Ena out in the shed away from Ellie and Eliza.

Jonathan removed four lumps from her belly altogether making three incisions to take them out :( The lumps didn't have much of a blood supply which he says is good as at least the lumps were not feeding from her.

She is back at the vets on Monday morning for a check up and to have her stitches checked unless she has a bad night in which case I need to phone up in the morning.

All I can do now is wait for the results back which should hopefully be sometime next week.

Thank you for the links Wiebke and thank you everyone for your well wishes throughout the day x

I really do hope my girl will be ok.

I would just have Eliza with her and leave the other girls outside. The girls are well bonded enough to go back together without you needing to worry.

Wishing Ellie all the best! You have done your best to get things sorted out as quickly as they have come up, so Ellie is in with a good chance.

I am sure now she is home and indoors she will soon recover. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear all went well today. I would tend to agree with Wiebke and leave the other two girls outside, I'm sure they will all be happy to see each other in a few days. Speedy get well wishes heading Eleanor's way xx

Pleased that the op went well, fingers crossed on the results for her. Hoping she makes a fast recovery, lots of healing vibes and wheeks from our girls to her x

Ellie had a good night last night. She has been out and about a little more today. I have noticed she is drinking quite a bit but she didn't drink much yesterday so I am hoping this is the reason why?

Maybe she is just making up for it. It is really good she has been moving about.

Ellie went to the vets this morning for her post op appointment. She has had a good weekend and her and Eliza have been reunited with Erin and Ena and are back back in the shed. Jonathan was pleased with her. Her wounds are healing nicely and she is back to her normal self. I just need to take her back if she messes with her stitches or becomes unwell. We should hopefully have the results back at the end of the week :...

I was hoping they were ovarian cysts but the lumps were at random places across her belly. I am so worried for what they are :(

Sounds like a good report, Claire, I'm so pleased. Now just to wait for the results - fingers and paws all crossed here.

Everything crossed here for your little girl x

I am glad that Ellie is recovering well from her op. It usually takes 2-3 days for the body to settle down, but from then on the healing process should be straight forward.

Waiting for lab results is always very worrying; I hate it! fingers firmly crossed that there aren't any bad news!

They were the size of cherries apparently. It is the waiting thats the worst :(

In the meantime, Ellie is currently zooming around the shed making the most of the space although she is still sleeping more. Jonathan said it would be ok to put her and Eliza back out, thankfully, I am around to keep an eye on her.

Well that sounds good. She must be feeling well to be moving about as she is. I know you must be very worried about the results. My thoughts are with you.

Concerned

I have noticed this morning that Ellie is back to being hormonal e.g rumble strutting and trying to mount Ena :( Fair enough, she could be in season but I am worried now.

She can't have ovarian cysts as all her lumps were removed on Friday and Jonathan said that ovarian cysts wouldn't be in random places in her tummy like Ellie's lumps were.

Is it possible for Ellie just to be very dominant towards Erin and Ena? It is Ena who gets the brunt of it most of the time but Ena is just below Ellie is the rankings.

It could just be dominance, i am sure i read on here that once in a while, groups like to re-establish. However it could well be the very start of ovarian cysts, if they are small (pea size, they may not be felt as easily, only an ultra sound could confirm this.

Big hugs, glad she is atleast back to her normal self and happy xx

Just thought I would update. Jonathan rang this morning to say that all of Ellie's tumours were benign and there is no trace of anything nasty. He said it is the best news they could have hoped for :)

He was really nice on the phone. He said she may now be prone to them and if any grow back, to obviously have them checked but unless they caused her trouble or grow huge, he would probably just leave them and monitor them.

I am so glad I had them analysed.

Thank you everyone for your advice and support. Me and Ellie really appreciate it xx
