Off To Vets With Maddie

Forgot to say earlier, Amir drained 48ml from the cyst and said it was the largest he had seen.

This is her tonight

Compared to yesterday

Another from tonight, she was very sleepy here

Maddie is doing really well today, weighed her tonight and she has dropped about 50g so that would be the weight of the cyst. No sign of it refilling as yet and she seems much livelier. No squeaky wees either.

Maddie is not so good again. Wasn't quite herself this morning and tonight there is definite blood in her wee and she is moping about. Arranging another scan ASAP but at local vets.

Thanks everyone, just done a wee test and it is possible it is an infection so have started her on Septrin and Canesten Oasis in case until we get to the vets.

The OH took Maddie to the vets this morning and she is staying there to have a full body xray, apparently they can xray underneath so she won't need to be put on her back, also being done conscious as she is a heart pig. Also asked about strongger pain relief like Rimadyl as Metacam is not helping, she looks very sorry for herself though is not squeaking when peeing.

Will know more at about 2.30.

The xray showed no stone which is good, no tumour, no fluid (thank you heart meds) and no cysts though there is a black speck that could be some of the contents of the cyst she had drained. Sent home on Rimadyl and I need to look at further adjustments to her diet, possibly removing dry food altogether. She is already on Glucosamine and has Citricidal in her water.

Vet is emailing xray to me later today so will get my friend who runs the clinics to have a look too.

lots of cuddles sent x

She is not that great this morning, am starting to think this could be something like renal failure. Have asked to finish at lunch today and for tomorrow off so I can go home and feed her. Won't know until 9 if I am allowed though. Then we have a clear run over the next 4 days of being able to feed every few hours. If it is renal failure though I will be making a decision for her as that is a long drawn out process which is incredibly painful.

Oh I'm sorry Maddie has been poorly again :-( . Fingers crossed what ever it is -that its fixable. Hope work gives you the time off. Love and hugs to you both x

Me too. Just got home and given her 30ml and she loves it, is excited for the next syringe which is good. She also ate some spring greens. Have started her on Metatone too. She is pooing ok, though obviously they aren't great but she is juddering when pooing, possibly linked to IC.

Not brilliant but taking her critical care like an angel. Possibly got wind so just had half hour on massage pad and did loads of poos and some very big non squeaky wees over the edge onto the bed little cow ;)

Think we have got to the bottom of what is going on. Not the blood in her wee, that has stopped and I think was IC related. This fluffed up not eating etc is trapped wind, she is going on the massage pad every few hours, having her tummy massaged by hand and having gripe water too. She is eating hay which is great and just had a big syringe feed. This is most likely related to her heart condition and is an electrolyte imbalance so she is also having Dioralyte.

The OH says there was possible gas showing on her xray but it has not been emailed to me yet so can't see for myself.
