Did you see they have Guinea pig fruit and veg sticks in Lidl £1.19 for 3 large sticks,I didn't get any as I didn't know if they were any good for the girls, perhaps someone can let me know :)

Hi Curly,

I didn't see them. To be honest those sort of things aren't good for a pig as they are usually coated in sugar and some even have nuts in. I did get my boys one when I first got them but they didn't bother, they prefer their greens. :)

Thanks for that. Really usefull. :) :) O0

kl! i found curly kale in morrisons for 99p, so tesco is cheaper, and i found a massive bag of carrots (1.5 kg) for 95p, and the peppers were good to, got the bumper bag. O0 i got some other stuff but don't think it was amazingly special prices :)

Tesco price is higher then some of them ((well most of them))

Yeah some of the stuff like the herbs weren't on offer but thought I'd get them as the girls prefer leafy kind of veg then celery, they woofed them down! I was disapointed with Netto, no real bargins.

Oh Morrisons had apples for £1 but today wasn't apple day! :D I think Morrisons are great for variety on lettuces, but I guess it just depends on what shop you go in!

I admit I didn't know what Kale was, I thought it was curly lettuce 98) so I got some then went in Tescos and saw it in the cabbage section so I got some of that too!

I'm pleased with how much they have ate today! They are having good stuff while I had Pizza and chips for tea! :)

Same i had pizza, chips and spaghetti hoops ::) ::)

Thanks SunshineandTwinkle,I didn't think they would be any good,I bake my own dog treats do you know if there is anything I could bake treatwise for the piggies :)

Thanks louise for the tip

does anyone elses guinea eat all the leaves off the corn on the corn then not eat much of the corn 98)

Hi Karen,

My pigs eat things one day then leave them the next time I give them! If I chop carrots they won't eat them but if I use a carrot peeler to make thin strips of carrot they all eat that and they twirl it around their mouth, so cute!

I missed the corn bargin in Asda and I wanted some corn for them as well!

:)

I checked our Morissons and it said £1.99 must be different offers in different stores. Not sure mine like it. Currently the girls like brocolli but the boys don't and the boys like cucumber but the girls don't! So it's different menus for different sexes! ;)

Hi, all just to let you know morrisons have corn on the cob, leaves and all at 3 for £1 again :) and a value bag of mixed peppers at £1

Great thanks for that! I saw the corns the other day but didn't get any. I always buy pepper and prefer the big bags as it runs too expensive to buy 1 pepper! I find Morrisons great for their veg lately, a lot cheaper than Tescos! :)

yeah i always get the value bag of peppers like 6 or 7 in different colours and the pigs dont mind if they aint the bigger posh ones lol i use them in my cooking too :) much cheaper O0

Haha me too, my daughters love peppers too so they try and nick them I go mad, they are for the pigs I tell them! Although their fav is red pepper and I dont' give them to the pigs as much because of the sugar, its more of a treat every other week :)

Tesco's have corn on the cob on offer at the moment 4 for £1 and Lidl had them the other day for 19p each.

Yep IVe been buying the corn from Lidl for the last 2-3 weeks. Mine get through a box of 35 each week.

Wow thats a lot Vicky :) I spent £8.00 a week on 5 34p for Cabbage the other day in Lidl I hope they have that offer on. I'm findin Brocolli really expensive £1.44 in Netto! Netto's prices are terrible, we went the other night and couldn't grab a bargin! The only problem I have with Lidl and Aldi is they don't supply baskets so I have to get my girls to hold everything! :D

Thats not all we buy, sometimes I get bags of carrots, normally use one or two of those a week and a box of spring greens as well. Mind you we do have about 30-40 piggies to feed, numbers fluctuate depending on how many rescues we have in.

Then on top of that there veggies bits from the house and my mum quite often gives me stuff too. Never mind they hay, redigrass and dry mix. ::)

But we do like to know they are getting plenty of food.

Haha my mum gives me some veggies too, usually salad stuff like peppers and cucumber but I'm always grateful. I agree its best to offer more then leave them hungry, I was giving my pigs 3 leafs of cabbage each but they only eat 2, so you learn from that and adjust it to suit.

Tomorrow I have to buy all the veg, dried mix and pellets (trying to swap over to pellets), megazorb and willow balls! But they are worth it. It's fun going out and getting all the stuff together, my girls help and we have a great time finding the bargins!
