Well! I was having fun, looking for all the stuff I can buy my piggies on payday.
Even getting me some fleece from Hammocky Hammocks that's being customised to stop the evil burrow gremlins.

I was all excited.
I go to work, I pay my rent, what's left is mine...Surely.
My dad still told me off for spending "so much" money on my piggies. :))

He really hates me buying them things. He seems to think that they need a cage, hay, water, nuggets and they're set for life. He has absolutely no idea!
I buy them something to chew on and he thinks I'm over-spending.
I tell you! He'd have a major shock if he visited here. I think I'm quite tame compared to most of you :(|)
I'm learning, though! I'll be one of the guinea spending group soon enough! :<>

What a fuss he makes, though. Even at 22, having a job and living my own life...He seems to think he has some control over my spending and what I do with myself, I guess it's the price you pay for living at home rolleyes he'll learn!

oh i sooo know what you mean, I'm 26 live with my partner and have a five year old, and a two year old, and my mom still goes mad if i dont phone her everyday, and still asks if i eat all my tea!ridiculous!lol.gemx

Hahaha! I think all dads have the same mind set! :)

atleast its not just me

i live in my own home and my mom still doesnt think i should have any piggys lol and moans if i buy them anythink... iv come the point I'm just going to hide new things when she visit lol

:)) I haven't lived with my parents for 17 years but I still don't tell them what I spend my money on. I certainly don't tell them about buying beds, hammocks and expensive hay for my guinea pigs. :(|)

i thought it was only me that every time i say awww look at that dog/pig that needs a home mum is like 'you cant afford it' arrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh mallethead

i turned 40 in July!!

So this is something I'll be putting up with forever?

I better be more sneaky about buying things for my piggies then {:|

I'm 31, live on my own and have a well paid job but I'll STILL lie to my mum about what things I buy for the piggies cost, usually knocking off about 30-40% or saying it was on sale, or that I found it really cheap on preloved :)

lol i do this too, about most things!

From a mum's point of view my daughter is 22 works and lives in her own house.I don't interfere with her finnances, but as soon as there is a problem she wants her mum and dad.
This week we have been trying to sell 2 Leeds festivel tickets she bought at £180 each for her and a friend, the friend has let her down and has not paid her so she now does not want to go.She could be doen £360 which to me is horrific, but she has sat back and let us deal with it.Luckily I have just managed to sell one for £150 so at least she has got some money back.So just remember parents may interfere at times but we do mean well.

Of course you do because you are our mummy's and we love you really :)

Yes! I'd be lost without my parents. I do admit I run to them when I have a problem. Well...I normally run to my Grandad :)) but my mum and dad are my next "go to" guys!

I know that one day...I'll be a mother and my kids will be moaning about me!

I still live at home but currenlty saving for a house and my mum doesnt mind what i buy for the pigs, but my dad says 'they are pigs you know and they wont use that, just wait and see!' that was when i bought the arm chairs and the pigs love them! I cant get them off them and have to wash them every week.

I too have my own job and give my parents money each week for washing etc and then what ever is left goes into my savings and i have a amount i keep for myself. But again i lie how much i pay for oxbow hay and just say 'oh its only £10 more than the normal stuff' :)) If they knew how much the big 22kg of oxbow timothy was i think they would have a fit.

:)

ha ha ha bless them all x

I dont run to my parents as i am very very very self-sufficient, however, i know they would be there for me if i did ever need them.

:)

My dad is taking me to P@H on Saturday (Running to him! OH NO!) because it's too far for me to travel (Since I don't drive yet...) and I just worked out how much the stuff I need will cost and it's looking like it'll be somewhere around £40 give or take a fiver.

2 1kg bags of Alfalfa King hay :))
1 bag of normal hay!
1 bag of nuggets
2 new pigloo's
And then some stuff to keep them amused, like a wooden cube, some loofa balls and such.

I'm going on Holiday next saturday for 2 weeks. Transporting piggy goods to my brothers on Sunday. It's all very complicated but my plan involves me having doubles of EVERYTHING. So my boys have stuff here for next week while I'm home and then when I leave on the Saturday, my brother can simply come get my boys and not have to take tons of other stuff with him!
It makes transporting them easier, quicker and less stressful.

They're due some new stuff anyway...It's starting to get a bit old and nasty looking now.
