i got honey from pets at home and she was 8 weeks old and they told me she was a girl. I've had Spice about 4 years and i know she's a girl because she's been to the vets years ago. I've had Honey 5 weeks and i got them out for floortime (they normally live outside) and Honey tried to hump/mount spice a few times. i looked at them and they both have the Y shape (gentials) I don't want babies. What are syptoms of pregnancy? i've also heard that this is dominance. i've always thought they were both girls. hope you understand.

Calm down. It is probably just down to dominance. How often have they been in contact with each other, in other words have they had time to mate? If so get them down to the vets, a rescue, a experienced guinea pig breeder (I know many people don't like breeders on this forum but to put spice and honeys mummy mind to rest) or owner to make sure they are both girls. If it turns out they are not and there is the possibility that Spice may be pregnant get her to the vets as she will not be able to give birth naturally and then get hold of pets at home to pay the veterinary fees. First of all don't panic until you get them sexed. :)

Try not to worry google for some pictures of sexing piggies and my girls used to do the same as did Rusry and Wiggy who where male.

hi try not to worry my male piggies all do this and it's a dominance thing if really worried take them to a vet and ask them to sex them for you

my meggie who is 18months old did this ot poppy who is 3 months old in the run the other week one day and there are bith girls for sure so dont warry

My 'HONEY' was also a supposed Girl from Pets at home. Even the vet there told me she was a she. But by doing my own research I found out that Honey was a 'HE'. I don't recommend this store AT ALL! .All this resulted in a pregnancy from Brandy and 4 babies arrived! Luckily i've found brilliant homes for them and kept one myself. He's had a few breathing problems too. He's been castrated now but everything ive had to do has cost me LOADS!
PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE

Members on the forum are well aware about this store and them not sexing there animals correctly. Some members having brought a guinea they thought was one sex and then turning out to be the opposite. I have also brought guineas and a rabbit from the store. My guineas like most of the guineas having had their own health issues. As for boycotting the store I am not able to do this being that it is the only store in my area. I could order stuff from across the internet but I have done this in the past from reputable websites and have received unacceptable goods, which have cost me money to send them back. :)

Also bear in mind that the sexing skills in one store may be a lot better than in another.

If they both look the same, then it's entirely likely that they *are* the same ;)

If you are worried about one of the being a 'he' - then there should be a 'circular' part of his genitals. If you press gently above this, his little man will pop out ;) If you can't see anything that his little man could possibly be hiding in....then you've likely got a girl O0
