I habe just been to feed My Piggies amd a mouse has just ran past my foot in the shed.
What can I do?

Will they try to get in the cage.
Oh I don't like mice, they run too fast.

they are a pain aren't they to get rid of mine in the boys shed last year I completly emptied everything it was hiding under the last run I took out but got a swift "out" with a broom every year i do this to make sure no mice are hiding a nd haev a good clean out with completly getting all cobwebs and disenfecting everywhere power washing the corrolux, etc and I keep humane traps in both sheds now, of he wont go you might need to lay a trap to catch him, dont htink they are as bad for diesease as rats but still can carry germs
good luck

Thanks
Was more worried about if they got in the cages to be honest. Would they harm the piggies apart from disease?

dont think they would but its not to be allowed if possible becasue of diesease, :tickedoff: rats might as they are not so timid but mice tend to hide and run,

I was told that mice can spread nasty disease, i think skin conditions,
I clean my garage out once a month a complete clear out and sweep, food is in a big sealed container and the greens also are sealed up, but it doesn't matter that i like furry creatures i scream like a little girl when i see them.
My OH laughs his head off, G*t.

them

ive bever had any problems with mice with having a cat aswell

just the dead ones he live around the gardan after he kills them

I'm concerned about mice in the shed too - they tend to nest in the garden right next to the vegetable plot (wonder why ;)).

A mouse can squash it's bones to fit into a hole the size of a pencil  :o so i have no idea how to keep them out of hutches/cages (i'd love to know). They could inflict a nasty bite on a piggy which could lead to an abscess.

I had a problem with rats last summer, they couldn't get into the piggies hutches but they did eat the newspaper (from the outside)which i line their hutches with & chewed holes in their water bottles, probably out of frustration because all their food/hay is kept in the house.

you could put one of those mice deterrent things in, it gives out a high pitched whine that only rodents can here, but silly thing i don't know if it effects guineas.

They are suppose to be extremely good.
