Damn you Aldi! :hb::hb::hb::hb::hb:

Aldi used to sell this crisp looking salad mix that had no spinach in it that I get for the piggies as it lasted in the fridge for ages without spoiling or wilting. On the weekend I grabbed a packet thinking they had just changed the packaging and on opening it realised it's a whole new line and they have stopped selling the one I usually buy and this one is 80% baby spinach like all the other supermarket brands. I spent an hour picking viable salad greens out of the mix only to end up with about a cup of anything I can feed piggies (luckily I like spinach). Why do the supermarkets always do this? If you are going to change your brands at least go with something that isn't completely inferior. Sorry piggies you're going to have to starve, mummy doesn't know what to feed you anymore lol.

That’s so annoying. I spend half my life looking for suitable things - I even found myself googling if chrysanthemum leaves were ok (I never found out - the packet went back).

Oh no.. naughty aldi. Mind you our late great Piggie Pedro LOVED spinach :)

Oh no! Are your piggies not allowed spinach? I buy some every now and then and they'll have it a few days until the bags gone then it might be a couple of months before their next hit lol

lol, they can have it, and they love it, but every time I give it to mine I get a lot of white pee - too much calcium for a regular thing. (for my lot anyway)

Just realised you're in Oz, so it will be coming into Summertime. Could you get them some fresh grass? I only feed tiny amounts of veggies when there is grass available. (You need to start it off slowly though, as it can give them a bit of the runs if they get too much at the beginning, but you can increase it to limitless over time)

I always get the bistro salad from aldi as it doesn't contain spinach and I can't be bother to check all the other packets or sift out lettuce. Plus the pigs love the beetroot.

Tesco do a nice bag of salad for the pigs but forget what it Is called. I often get it reduced and it lasts for ages in the fridge.

No they are allowed it and they love it but I thought it was one of those high calcium veggies so they only get it occasionally.

We often have rubbish straw looking grass here as it is so hot here but we have just had a week of rain with more to come so I might cut them some once the weather is fine and the yard is dry. They have never had grass before as our gardener sprays but he has not been here for several weeks and we have had alot of rain recently.

Oh, that might be dodgy, as some weedkillers are actually in the plant. I know wiekbe recommends 3 cuts after treating..

It’s always the salad mix lol. This is the second good quality mix the piggies especially love from two different stores that have changed their brand. The piggies don’t seem to mind though, they eat anything except asparagus lol.
