Hi all,

we've only had the girls for a month and my husband thought they were living upstairs but they've been in the living room for the past 3 weeks!

The smell of the hay was driving him mad so I've bought some dust free hay and given it to them for the 1st time today and blummin' heck they love it. I've refilled the hay rack 3 times today already. It is much more expensive than the big sacks of hay I can get from a local pet supplies shop and I hoped I wouldn't notice a big difference but the living room doesn't smell like a barn anymore and the girls are so happy.

DFH it is for us from now on then...:p Gotta have happy gals!

The opposite of my boys then! I've gone through many hays from the imported extemely expensive Oxbow Timothy hay, our own Timothy hay, meadow hay, oaten hay and rye grass hay. The last is the cheapest and the most readily available and that is the one the boys munch on like crazy.

Hmmmm ok we have what's called dust free hay but I still get that grassy smell when I come into the house. Can I ask where you got this one from?

Hi Mizzpigs,

It's from the dust free hay company http://www.dustfreehay.co.uk/index.html
I got 2 boxes for £18.99, tho it works out cheaper each box the more you order, but I can get a massive sack of my usual stuff for £2.50 so hoped I/they wouldn't notice a difference. Saying that the boxes are really packed tight so I'll see how long it lasts and it might not work out so bad?

Dust free hay are amazing. I wouldn't want to use anything else! All my boys love it which makes a change from the other where only one or two of them like it.
