Oh Phoebe!

I always hate that waiting bit too. Sending you and your girls hugs, you've all had a tiring and stressful day. Sending Phoebe loads of healing vibes. X

Poor Phoebe, very brave of you to go straight ahead with the surgery but sounds like the right decision. We are worrying right along with you, hope there's some good news from the vet soon! X

:yahoo:
Phoebe came through the surgery and all is well.
She’s recovering nicely, being kept warm and they’re happy to let me bring her home this evening as I am obviously an experienced piggy owner!

Antibiotics, Emeprid and 0.4ml Loxicom daily to be administered. More Critical Care being collected for syringe feeding if necessary.

Now going to divide the cage so she can have a quiet space for tonight at least then off to pick her up at 8:30.
It’s been a long day.

Everyone’s support has been appreciated- it’s nice knowing that others understand the anxiety too.

Now - where did I put my credit card?

I am so pleased Pheobe is doing well.
What would we and our piggies do without those little bits of plastic that give us time to juggle the finances?

Oh that's wonderful news! We were all so worried, when I told piggy daddy that Phoebe was having surgery he almost cried, he's been reading all about your piggies ready for meeting them!
Healing wheeks for a smooth recovery, and extra piggy kisses from Theo :) x

So pleased it went well.... I hope you get some rest - it's been a long day for you x

Aw, so good it gone well for Phoebe and wishing her a speedy recovery x

Phoebe is home.
Quiet and subdued in a divided area of the cage.
She’s just taken her Baytril with no problem, some Critical Care went down well as did a slice of cucumber.
She has hay, oats, nuggets and some veggies right outside her snuggle box so hopefully she will eat for herself. There’s also a dish of Critical Care nearby.
Hopefully now she’s home and can rest quietly she’ll soon be back to her normal bright and bouncy self.

For all her tests, the op and 2 follow up visits plus meds I was charged £261.11 which is much less than I was expecting.

Sending love and lots of healing vibes x x

Great to hear Phoebe will be doing well once again.
How old I saw she now?

A quiet night.
All the pigs are still rather subdued.
Phoebe was less cooperative this morning for her meds and syringe feeding but she did fill the towel on my lap with poops which is good.
I might take the cage divider out later and replace the wood shavings with a fleece so that all 3 can be together.
She’s eating her veggies and I think she ate a few nuggets and oats during the night.
Vet check tomorrow afternoon

Well eating and poops are very good signs! Probably all the piggies (and you!) are still exhausted after such a long and stressful day at the vets yesterday. A nice soft fleece and reunion with her friends sounds like a good idea. Hope she continues to recover well!

Phoebe would like to show off her very neat scar to all you lovely piggies and people who have been so kind to her

She also wants you to know that she’s eating ok but that Jemimah and Priscilla stole her veggies and her bowl of Critical Care.
Jemimah keeps eating her pile of yummy green oat hay.
She says she was very good taking her meds and syringe feed this afternoon. (Slave says that’s stretching it a bit)
She did pop out of her fleece box and onto the bridge when the cage was opened this afternoon.

Vet follow up tomorrow.
She’s still tired and lacking bounce but she’s eating and pooping- even if not with her usual enthusiasm.
Slave relieved given that she had major surgery only yesterday 😁

Beautiful Phoebe! That's a very neat scar. Hope the vet finds its all healing nicely tomorrow x

So happy to see her doing well.
I think she was very healthy to begin with and that helped during her surgery and for her to come out successfully.

Yes, she is about 18 months old and was fit and healthy so she has everything going for her. She’s perking up as the evening goes on and looking much brighter.
Thanks for your encouragement

We’re back from the vet now and they are very pleased with Phoebe’s progress.
Her wound looks good.
She wriggled to make examination difficult :D
She’s doing well with her eating and waste disposal.
She just needs to regain her weight now but hopefully that will happen over the next few days.
She’s completely exhausted now.

No wonder she's exhausted, she's had a busy day and a heavy week! 💤

Thanks everyone.
I am just so glad I went to the vet while it was just a feeling on my part that something wasn’t right.
The vet I saw today said it was good to have caught the cysts while they were still small.

If it wasn’t for the forum I wouldn’t have known to keep such a careful eye on her health and would have probably missed the early signs.
Also without your support these past few days my anxiety levels would have been much higher.

Sorry I've been a bit hectic too, I've missed this & only just caught up with your thread, I'm so glad Phoebe is doing well & is on the road to recovery :luv:

Aren't the others naughty swiping her special hay & recovery food?! :inn:

Speedy recovery little lady. :tu:
I also hope you've managed to take a break & relax a little at some point since the Salisbury meet? (although I doubt it with all your recent hassles!)

Take care of yourself too

Healing vibes being sent your way.
Love the girls & I xx

Well done lovely Phoebe. Sending loads of hugs for a speedy recovery.
Tell your two naughty friends they are not allowed your special food.xx
