Jess
Adult Guinea Pig
What a day I have had!
About to leave for work at 8.15am and check in on the piggies and I hear a sound... a very mysterious sound. Hooting... and it's coming from Rory's general direction. I listen in for a little and it doesn't go away. Slight worry and concern, I give them some food and he tucks in straight away still that sound.
So I'm slowly getting later and later for work and trying to decide what to do.
Ring my friend to see if she's happy to get the bus to work and my boss to tell her I'm taking Rory to the vet.
Ring the vet and book an appointment for 8.50am... Get to the vet office am waiting for around for a bit until he calls us in, has a listen and thankfully its not the worst prognosis. He thinks its either the start of URI or pneumonia and prescribes him Septrin twice a day and wants to see him back next week, after a check over Rory says his thanks by peeing all over the vet table and tootles back into his cage.
Back home it's around 9.15am, give him his first lot of antibiotics and the little sod... he peed on me! Had to change my clothes as well (thankfully I'm the kind of person who is happy to have two pairs of the exact same colour jeans). So I'm almost an hour late for work and figured I'm not going to rush around, so I pick up my OH's friends present, drop that off with the OH, have a moan and finally decide its time to go work. I get there for about 9.45am.
... Things we do for piggies!
