I had to undergo the indignity of the dreaded bum bath this afternoon. Slave has been threatening it for weeks so I didn't actually think that she would go ahead with it.
Every morning at cuddle and comb time she said that I was all sticky and tangled "down below" (the very cheek!). Is it my fault that my husboar Saxon finds my irresistible? It's my long flowing L'Oreal advert locks that do it you know. Slave said that I had to have a bum bath TODAY as it's now warm enough in the garage (it's 20 degrees C in there) so the time had come. Slave tricked us all by putting the Snuggle Sack Express in the run. We thought it was a bit early but we didn't mind as we thought we'd get veggie dindins earlier than usual. Saxon went in willingly to be put in Betsy Towers followed by Bramble and then I went in quite happily as usual with thoughts of the impending yumminess. How shocked was I when Slave took me out of the Snuggle Sack Express and dumped my bum unceremoniously in a sink of water and gorgeous guineas shampoo for long hair? The water was nice and warm so I didn't complain too much but my Slave knew wasn't happy as the whites of my eyes were showing. Anyway, after my bum had been rinsed a couple of times to get all the shampoo out, I was placed on the table in the Conservatory where I was towelled dry (I quite liked that bit) then came the noisy hot air thingy to dry my fur properly. I don't mind that as I like the warmth but I don't like the noise. At last I was dry and then Slave gave me loads of coriander! I only normally get a couple of sprigs in the morning so it made a lovely treat to get some in the afternoon. The other two didn't get that so nah, nah, ne nah nah to them!
I must admit that I do feel a lot fresher around my derriere now and my fur is no longer sticky and it's not tangly anymore. Slave said that now I've had a bum bath she can give me and Bramble a fur cut! Will the indignity never end?!?
