Since switching to C&C cages oh what a difference it has made to the piggies lives and mine.

Poop sweeping is a 5 minute task twice a day with no contortionist style stretching to get to all areas as with C&C you can simply step in to reach everywhere. (THE BEST PERK for the one tasked with cleaning!)

Fleece is so much easier to deal with now that it is custom measured to the cage levels and is a proper fleece liner.

No more "thundering feet" on the bottom of a ferplast style cage even when that had some fleece. they used to race around and shake the cage!

No more stinky bedding or soggy puppy pads from the pre liner (just a piece of cut fleece) days.

No more puppy pads as I am using fleece liners with zorb inside and it wetness does not go right through. (I still have a layer of puppy pads to protect the correx just in case but I have not had to replace those!).

So much more space for the piggies!

No more piggy arguments from getting in one anothers way as they sometimes did in the old cages if one got stuck in a corner.

So much easier to just reach in and give them a little scratch behind the ears / tasty tidbit

So much easier to just "add on" levels and extentions, or remove.

I wish I had not taken so long to switch, It was costly investment initially with everything from cages to the liners and extra pee pads for the hotspots like the food areas. But WELL WORTH IT for both me and them! So anyone out there still thinking about C&C but unsure... just do it!

I'd just like to add that the zorb liners are EASILY lasting a week with daily poop scooping before anything gets even a little smelly.

I am with you on this 100%.
Admittedly we were using a wooden outdoor hutch inside, and also Auboise bedding (it was supposed to go outside eventually) and switching to the C&C with fleece has made life so much easier (and better for the pigs too).

Although the big downside is that due to the expandable nature of the C&C, our seems to keep magically expanding.
We have gone from a 5x2 with a 2x1 loft to an 8x2 with a 2x1 loft, and as soon as our next lot of 'spare' grids arrive from the UK I suspect we might end up with a 9x2 with a 2x2 loft. It is all a bit out of control really

So pleased you are enjoying the c&c revolution. we would never go back now, luckily space allows us to have one in the old house we couldn't have fit one in easily.

Could I ask what zorb is? very interested in finding out more

Because I am feeling not yet awake enough to explain it, here are some points from the internet :D. It's an absorbent alternative to go as the fillers in fleece liners, VERY fast drying after a wash and very absorbent. I believe CandEcosies are currently the only ones who make their liners with zorb at the moment, however if you are in the UK or US you might be able to find it in a fabric store.
It tends to run a little more expensive than other alternatives but in my opinion it was worth the small extra cost.

Zorb Super Absorbent Fabric

  • Innovative super absorbent fabric designed to maximize absorbency & improve performance of cloth diapers & any other reusable product
  • Unique construction allows for rapid capture, superior holding capacity & fast moisture distribution
  • Absorbs 10X it's weight in fluids in half a second (20X faster that most other bamboo, cotton or hemp knits)
  • Used as an interlining material between the face & lining fabrics.
