Billy was 9 months old when he was bonded with Rodney aged 2.

I now have the same task as you, finding a new friend for Billy, one of his favourite hobbies is also humping! I need another Rodney, who just carried on eating & completely ignored it!

Good luck! X

Its a ferplast 140 cage so can't really extend it like a C&C in anyway :[

tempted to retry them in the cage again as things are so quiet but think thats just down to the fact poor Ludo is hiding the whole time.

Bless you hun. Good luck if you do put them back, I personally would put them in as bigger space as possible- especially with boys. I know my 2x4 cage is the smallest i would put my 2 piggies in now- Sweep would get in Honor's nerves if in anything smaller.
Really Hope they calm down hun. Good luck x

Well I think we're definietly looking at a bit of a cage issue. I wish I'd had time to clean it before we left but today has just been none stop and never got the chance, Daddypig in hospital 9:00-12:30, then we had half hour to get lunch and out the door to head to bonding! and of course we're going away saturday night! urghhh!:soz:

Just had them both on our laps, Wyatt moved over to sit with Ludo on daddypigs lap and then they both pretty much fell asleep on each other all snuggled up! You'd never have known anything was wrong!

So tried them back in the cage... so far its a lot quieter than earlier. We're only getting problems when Ludo attempts to challenge Wyatt and then we get the rumble/teeth chatter/chasing problems. Wyatt is no longer trying to pursue Ludo though and none of the troubles are initiated by Wyatt.

They're managing to sit nearby each other and eat hay at the moment.

Bless, fingers crossed for a quiet evening! Bless you. If only you were close by, i would have offered to keep an eye while you were away x Hope your managing to rest x

Aw thank you, that's so sweet! The in laws will be staying over for pig duty but they're not 100% clued up on dominance etc so a teeny bit worried.

However, all seemed quiet this morning and no signs of scuffle/violence overnight. Looks like Ludo is still pretty she'll shocked by everything and hasnt really left the corner house but he took some baby corn this morning and ate that so can't be too traumatised. Wyatt kept going over to check on him so I think he definitely wants to be friends now!

I hope it all works out for you! I had this with my 2 sows about 2 months go. I couldn't bare it and sent them both to the rescue centre I got my new piggy from to let the lady there do the bonding. They both stayed there for a week. I have the same cage as you and I was terrified of putting them in there together overnight! They are fine though, just plenty rumble strutting now :)

Did you make sure to thoroughly disinfect and scrub the cage? Wyatt could see the cage as his territory if it still has his scent on it. I recommend a 50/50 water and distilled vinegar solution for the scrubbing, leave to completely dry, then scrub and leave to dry a second time. Use clean bedding.

Keep in mind that toys will need disinfecting too. Cardboard will need throwing away, wood will need dunking in 50/50 vinegar and water solution and left to dry for at least 24 hours, food dishes and water bottles will need dunking and rinsing to remove all scents.

You might want to put two of everything in the cage. Two pigloos, two tunnels, two water bottles, two food dishes. This will discourage bullying and/or fighting over things.

Hope everything works out for your piggies! :)
