My poor piggy has had three bite marks on his mouth and nose in 1 week. I think I need to separate them. My two boys had been getting along fine until the last few weeks. I believe my youngest boat is having hormone spikes which is causing the problem. Should I just keep them side by side separately? Do I need to find friends for each? The one who is bullying seems to want to be left alone. The other one is very social. Not sure what to do.

@Livia Rabideau Piggies are social so they do prefer company. If you can get another two that would be great.

But in the meantime having them next to each other means they can stil socialise to an extent and not worry about fighting.

How much space do they have? I ask as often boys need more room to get away from each other especially once they hit the teenage years. I would be keeping a very close eye on them.

That's a shame, but if they're not full on fighting, it could be that he is getting hurt during dominance displays. Have a read at the bonding threads and boar threads to help you decide if permanent separation is needed, or if they just need to be separated for a few hours when hormones are running high. I've had to do this a couple of times when my boars were in their teenage months. Good luck!

Is their cage big enough? Do they have separate feeding bowls opposite ends of the cage? Monitor them and if there is constant chatter and full on scrapping, bullying into a corner then yes separate but try these things first.

Hope this helps ( There are lots of YouTube videos on this) xx

Their cage is a 3 by 5 c and c cage with a loft. I may add a loft on the other side first before separating them. They both love the loft, so I am wondering if that is the issue. They have two of everything. They also have a large room for floor time. I just feel bad for my Chewy. I just didn't know how bad the fighting had to be to separate them. Thank you for your support.
