So I went to Pets at Home and if I’d had my way I’d have walked away with two beautiful piggies, there was a teddy with gorgeous light brown and white fur, and an Abyssinian with black fur and a tiny bit of brown on its face, I loved them so much! I’m devastated 😩😩😩
I cannot be trusted in Pets at Home...

I had my eye on an adult guinea pig boar who was huge called Tom , in a local petshop. But theres no way i could have kept him. I have a Bernie already. We even got to the point of the lady working at the shop saying go on have him, hes been here ages. I wonder how hes doing sometimes. I do hope hes gone to a home where he atleast gets hay and vit c and fresh water. He was an Abyssianian he looked like he would have atleast weighed 1.2kg

I saw the two cutest babies in the PAH adoption section. They were both white, black and ginger 😍 I would have snapped them up in seconds if I had the room. I don’t think they would have been there very long cuz they were flippin adorable.

Ooh pretty beds 😍 the few things I would buy from PAH I tend not to cuz I have 4 pigs and obviously I’d have to buy one for all of them lol so works out very expensive. Viovet sell things much cheaper!

By the looks of how much room your pigs have, you could have more..but you obviously you have 2 boars so not now lol
I’d love to have a third boy, but I guess it’s just not something that can be done

I don’t think you ever stop learning, things change over time, we know so much more now than in years back when piggies were often kept with rabbits or on their own. There was very little medical knowledge and treatments were very basic. Luckily piggies are now getting the treatment they deserve from more experienced vets as time goes by which is great x

I had piggies in the 80’s and SO much has changed since then. Yes I got a rabbit and guinea together, the guinea was pregnant and before we knew it there was an explosion of piggies. We learnt by trial and error how to sex them and, I hate to say it now, all the boars were kept together in 1 Hutch but we never saw injuries or fighting. I do look back with horror now but it was simply because the information wasn’t available in those days as it is now. I have to say they were always, always fed veg, hay and dry food twice daily, had water and kept warm in the winter and cleaned out regularly. I’m glad there’s so much more knowledge around now.
