Hi alove t lovely guinea pig starter kit with my new hutch from home to roost. It came with green oat hay? Is that ok to feed in hay rack or would you put on floor to nest and eat? Hay rack in the kit had a salt lick attached and has wire lid to it to stop accidents. Thanks in advanced x:luv::stu::bronco:ok love these !

Hi , green oat hay is fine for them to eat, but a tad rich so feed in moderation, (always give veg and dried feed) though if you want the best feed hay , then its AlfAlfa King Thimathy , my guys
eat it all the time ,
great for teeth, and great for digestion,. though not so good for bedding,

if you want a good all round hay, then you could get Yourkshire Igns , though at the moment it is a bit stringy

Thank you, love my new big guinea pig family lol you won't let me get it wrong xx

As Dave has said, Oat hay is a nice treat. Have a look around for a good quality meadow hay for daily eating. Please remove the salt lick it is not needed for piggies at all.

Be lovely to see some photos of your piggies

Will keep you all updated, having fun and games at the mo. Run arrived friday but broken so gone back today. Replacement here but will need to make it right for me. The starter kit came today but no hutch? When I chased it no one quite knew where it was but between home to roost who I ordered it from and the delivery company they found it and fingers crossed it comes tomorrow. The company I ordered it from have been brilliant just hope no probs with the hutch now. I got the rain cover and the snug, to help in winter too x
