Does this sound ok for dinner for one pig? Provided some of these ingredients won't be present every dinner.

Two tiny bits of parsley
Roughly half a green bell pepper
Two slices of celery
A leaf of romaine lettuce
Edit; and a few bits of green beans

I think that's a great portion, but maybe reduce the celery a tiny bit!

If it were my pigs I'd swap the parsley for coriander (it's pig drugs to them!), and the green pepper for red pepper as I've had a few pigs that green pepper has caused them to bloat, so I'm always paranoid.

You could add in something random each day, maybe a slice of carrot one day, a blueberry another, a bit of cucumber, a different herb, a slice of spring greens just to mix it up a bit.

You can always change it to suit the tastes of your little ones too.

Looking good :) Swap in and out different coloured peppers to avoid boredom with one colour - our fussy madame go through phases of preferring one over the other... You have made me hungry, it is a good job our piggies don't have access to the internet otherwise they'd be round your house for tea!

Thanks for the answers! :D

I've been using green pepper more than red or yellow recently as I saw something saying red was higher in sugars? Is that something I should take with a grain of salt lol

For coriander, I looked in our local shop yesterday but couldn't see any so got some parsley for the moment. Mum popped out to go shopping and just brought some back. Also, how much should I reduce the celery? This was two pieces, not sticks if that's what was meant?

Heh, I've just finished a Ben&Jerry's - Ginny's much healthier than me :))

Red is fine especially every few days interspersed :)

ha ha Ben and Jerry's nom!

I wouldn't give big corn, far to stringy. Baby corn occasionally as a treat high in sugar and I am yet to meet a pig that likes it. Coriander will be a hit I reckon :)

Pop the coriander pot in a saucer of water should pep it up

I usually give them 2 strands each on a morning and 2 on an evening.

I'm dreadful at keeping the pot herbs alive. My dill currently looks like it's on Deaths door!

Sweetcorn leaves go down a storm when you can get them. The corn itself is quite sugary so I tend to avoid it. The baby corn is okay for a treat every now and then.

I find I can keep pot herbs going for months if I repot into a slightly bigger pot with fresh compost, when they sell them they are virtually pot bound. I keep them on the kitchen window.

Thanks !

Lol I can barely keep plants despite my enthusiasm for them. I wanted to get a flytrap but realised the poor thing would die sooner than later

Back again lol. How does this look? He's had a tiny bit of dry forage (like the p@h orange bags) and a few tiny bits of apple when I was holding him today as well though. I'm just trying to stabilise what he's eating as I haven't had to feed one piggy for a while.

Four pieces of green bean
A leaf of cut romaine lettuce
Two pieces of celery halved into four
A slice of carrot halved
Four cut pieces of red pepper
Two bits of coriander

My two sows also love the silks off the corn too. Only occasionally because fresh corn cobs are a tad expensive here and I only get them when they are on special but they love it as a treat.

Looks good Carnival! You don't need to chop things so small though. Part of the fun for the pigs is standing on a leaf ( so it doesn't escape I guess) and tearing into it.

Or so nobody else tries stealing it! But yeah, they love ripping leaves down to eat them.

Hehe, thanks :)) whenever I try to play tug of war with him he just bites down and gives me the stink eye. And I'll keep that in mind

Today:

A slice of carrot
A slice of cucumber
Four pieces of coriander - two fed in morning
A leaf or romaine lettuce
A little less than half a green bean
Five pieces of red pepper

Too many sugars? I've already given a little bit of forage today as well
