I went into pets at home earlier just to find the boys some play things for their home and some general bits and bobs and I walked past the adoption section and saw these gorgeous guinea pigs and they both looked so sad huddled up under their log and my heart went out to them.

I asked about them to a friend that works there and said they had been there for ages but no one was interested - 16 weeks old and all pen friends went and no one wanted them :...:...
I told her I would adopt them straight away and did the paperwork and went round to fetch them. Vert stressed though bless them.

So I now have them home and they are settled in their hutch full of hay and resting as they were extremely stressed when I got them today.

Thye are 16 weeks old and I thought they looked Rex? So would like any opinions and id like the forum to come up with name ideas! Best ones get picked - they are both ladies. The chocolate one has a bit of a bloated tummy at the moment so shall I keep her on just hay over the weekend? if no better monday she will be going to the vet!

chocolate smooth and golden agouti crested...and the choc looks like she might be pregnant...hmmm...so keep a close eye on her.

otherwise - lovely :))

Lovely girls x) Why shouldn't you have adopted them - you are going to give them a loving home so that is all that counts :(|)
I know if I need supplies from a shop selling piggies, have to send my OH as I would bring them ALL home ;)

I couldnt of left them there, they are gorgeous and were there ages. They are all snuggled in their hutch now under the hay and hope they calm down soon - very skittish ladies at the moment!

Aw bless them, they look gorgeous.

I was going to say that the bolated tummy might be pregnancy :...

Names, I thought of were -

Thelma and Louise
Patsy and Edina
Beatrice and Eugenie

:(|)

Oh they are beautiful :) I'm sure they will have such a lovely home with you and have the attention any piggy deserves :)) xx

I hope she isnt pregnant - but its pets at home so is a possibility, lady couldnt feel any piggies inside of her when she checked earlier but it may be too early - she didnt half take offence to her tummy being touched though. But I'm going to take them monday just for a quick check up.

Cadbury and Bournville.
Cocoa and Choco.
I also like Truffle and Galaxy

They are beautiful smooth coated selfs:)) (I think!) lol

Tbh they both look as though the could be pregnant, but the picture might be deceptive:) keep us posted!

My daughter has decided they are now hers - and is calling them fifi and Dora! I died laughing!

What do you all think? she is only 3 so excuse her poor taste in cartoons!

cuties... :)
why shouldnt you have...?... if the time was right... and the piggie fits.... why the hell not... :)
I'm no good with names as most of my lot have stupid names... :))
but i'd probably go for something colour related...
please remember to quarantine for 2 weeks minimum... this includes air space...
so if your boys are in the livivng room... looks like you might have some lodgers in your bed room for 2 weeks... :))

good luck sweet...
and I'm sure the girlies will be very happy with you...
x
p.s. i think fif and dora is brill... :))
my two year old named two of mine... nuzzle and scratch... :))

Thank you for the great advice. Yes i think fifi and dora is going to stick! The babies all live outside during the summer months so i have the boys and the girls round different sides of the house so they cant smell or see one another.

When they are ready they will go out in the run and will get to sniff the boys but run is halved so they cant do any funny business! but they will get a sniff and get to have a wheak at each other.

At the mo though the girls are scared and are in hiding until they settle poor babies.

aww.... that sounds great... :)
the only thing i will say about having the run split in half is you will end up with your boys humping each other and making a mess...:)>>>... and age depending might squabble....
but my boys dont when they can see girlies.... where they are in runs close to the girlies happens once in a while... they do devote there day to trying to eat there way out of a run though....
soooo.... maybe it might be better to give them a day each...?... like one pair in one day and the other in the next.... i have to do this with my runs as i dont have enough garden to accomidate them all out at once...!.... haha....

oh.... and p.s....
cant wait for more pigtures...!.....drool
beauties that they are....!
x

Oh sweet little things. I am so glad they have a good home with you and you will give them the love they deserve.

What beautiful piggies. Such a shame that no-one wanted them although I'm sure they've landed on all four paws getting a home with you!
