so in my box of goodies this week i got some okra but am unsure if it safe for the pigs to have. i have seen it listed on the fruit and veg list but am unsure if it is listed as safe or dangerous. can someone help n let me know if it is safe?

it kinda looks like a mini courgette sometimes known as ladys finger

Mainly used in southern cooking from the US, so don't feel bad. Lots of people don't know what it is.

At least I'm not the only one who didn't know what it was:)
I still feel stupid though :))

I wouldn't recommend buying okra for yourself. It's mainly used in gumbos (Southern Louisiana seafood stew) and is rather slimy when cooked. I wouldn't know what it was if I hadn't looked into after trying to make a gumbo. Kind of an acquired taste, like grits. Not sure if guinea pigs would like it either, but if you see it, might be worth a try?

I dont like the sound of it!
I have never seen it either funnily enough

xx

Okra is one of my fave veggies when I go for an Indian meal. It is called Bhindi Bhagi on the menu but is Okra. Its delicious and used in a side dish.

It is also called Ladies Fingers as someone pointed out.

Not sure about it for pigs although it is a veggie.
