Just a quick question at what age approximately do piggies become middle age and start slowing down. ? It's just that Midge (nearly 3yr) has become a lot quieter and tending to sleep alot more- a visit to the vets found nothing wrong with her, his opinion was that she was too fat. Thanks.

I guess thats logical but if you equate it to cats mine have always started to slow down at about 5yrs or it could be that they are just lazy. :))

Our first male acted like an old man when he got to 2years old, but happily went on until he was 5. The 2 girls we have now have slowed down since the age of 2, well one of them was lazy from the start:))

I guess it depends on the pig. My male who passed at 8 was popcorning and rushing around until a few weeks up to his death. My girls (3) still popcorn and run around but not like they did when they were 1/2. But Gypsey acts more like a baby than Tallulah, but thats just in her nature - Tallulah is a posh lady.
