I have a very old piggie. She's 8.

I have noticed that she has lost a lot of weight and I assume that this is normal for her age. She gets the same amount of food as she used to with unlimited hay and water and daily nuggets. She is very healthy otherwise, very active, glossy coat, eats well, shiny bright eyes and all the other good signs. But she is incredibly bony. I was just wondering if there is a more fattening diet for skinny piggies?

She eats a lot of leaves and some forage with carrot mostly and when we have veggies like broccoli in she has that too.

Thanks☺

You could always top her up with some critical care to give her a bit of a boost :)

My pigs love critical care with mushed nuggets and wheat grass powder, they eat it off a spoon!

Awww bless her, what a great age.

Piggies are like humans as they get older they shrink and lose weight, as long as she is happy and eating then i wouldnt worry. Weigh her regualry to make sure she isn't losing each time.

Agree with topping her up with extra pellets etc as suggested

Ok thankyou.
I forgot to say she has vitamins on her food every now and then to keep on top of them.
What is critical care? What does it do? And how much does it cost?
