Hello I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on my Piggys problem....he's five years old now and he's had the anal impaction issue for a while. Always coped okay with it but in the last month or so it's getting worse. It's happening more often and I am pretty sure it gets him down really. Today he seemed in pain and was holding his head to the side. Is there any easier way to get the stuff out?.. Anything I can give him to help? Advice please anyone :(

I have no experience in this. But I strongly suggest to ask you vet what he/she says to give/do.

If he's holding his head to one side it could be unrelated to the impaction, it sounds like a possible head tilt. How bad is the tilt, on a clock face where would the top of his head be eg 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock. Is he stumbling or moving in circles?

Ok thanks..keeping an eye on him...no stumbling or going around in circles

The good news is that mario has passed the big poop..with abit of help...poor thing :( he seems much brighter now. I used some mineral oil earlier and I think that really helped:))
