Can anyone please tell me if it is normal for older piggy's to lose weight?
My 3 older girl's have lost a little weight each, All the others have gained or stayed much the same.
My older 3 are, 4 1/2 years old and the other 2 are about 4 years old, They are eating well and ive checked all their teeth,Skin,Eyes but they all look really healthy
Any advice would be great thanks :)

How much weight have they lost and over what period of time?

x

ive noticed with a few of mine as they got to about 4ish they got abit lighter but they didnt show symptoms of an illness so i put it down to them just getting old (:

Hi

I have noticed this with mine too, just gradually over time the two older ones (5+) have dropped small amounts of weight over a long period of time but seem very healthy so I am not too worried about them.

I just keep monitoring them and checking teeth etc as you are doing. Maybe they get some muscle wastage as they get older like humans?

Mine have also got lighter with age. I think it is simply a natural thing with some older piggies. There hasn't been any change in health levels linked to this minor weight loss.
