My very special boy, Jerry, will be 7 years old in a few weeks. It got me thinking, which current Forum piggy is the oldest? We're not exactly sure of Jerry's birthday, but we think it is in July or August. We celebrate it on 1 August.

Are there any piggies older than this?

And the whole of Switzerland will be celebrting with him!
It's the biggest public holiday of the year, so a wonderful day to have a birthday Jerry.

As for ages, my lot are still babies, although I really hope that one day I will be posting something similar to @Jerrybelly and @Wiebke :tu:

Ooooh wonderful! I'm sure Jerry will be very pleased to hear that ;-)
I don't think he knows how old he is. He bounds around like a 7-month old. He has signs of cataracts forming, but other than that he continues to amaze me with his sprightliness!

My little miracle piggy fudge is 7 years, 2 months and 3 days old :-) we're approaching a year since her heart started failing, and everyday since that first day is a blessing x

Fred and Wilma are both approaching there 7th gotcha day. Both were definitely fully grown when I adopted them and I was advised they where 18 months.

Of course I'll never know for sure, Fred didn't look his age up until recently but now he's an old man.

Wilma is definitely an old girl. She's blind, deaf , arithic and tiny!

A vet tech at my vet's office had a pig that lived to be over 8! My oldest pig just turned 6 in April. She's had a lot of health problems over her lifetime, but is a tough girl and keeps on trooping. Right now she is doing well except for long-term suppressive antibiotics due to bladder issues (she's been on them for years) and over the past six months or so she has gone blind due to cataracts. Otherwise she's in pretty good shape! Her previous cagemate, Linney, lived to be 6 years and 3 months and was my longest-lived piggie, but I'm hoping that Sundae passes her by and keeps going!

I have a few older piggies in my piggy family. I have brothers Brown Bear and Claude who are both 7 (but that's what I call "rescue age" where there's always a bit of wiggle room either way in terms of how old they actually could be). Claude is completely blind. I have Clementine who is 6 this year, and her last surviving son Otter who will turn 6 maybe four months after she does (babies having babies, sigh). I also have Olive who turns 6 this year. Olive nearly died earlier this year when she developed a massive uterine tumour (think a 5cm ball of rapidly growing cells) that caused her to lose a great deal of blood. Luckily, I have amazing vets, and after a blood transfusion (some of my younger adult boys were donors) and touch and go surgery to remove her uterus and tumour, and separate the wall of her bladder and vagina after they'd fused from the pressure of the tumour (!) she's back to being a healthy little butterball again. I think she'll live forever, she's amazing.

Our first family piggy back in the 70's lived to nearly 10 years old.

PS: The oldest recorded guinea pig lived to 17 years old. Sweetie died two years ago in Australia. He pipped Snowball, the previous record holder from the UK, who lived to 14 years old.

My oldest boy was about 9 when he had to be put to sleep. My oldest living piggy is 3 ish but can't be certain as he is a rescue.

According to DD2 (who is currently 9) her pig Eddi (who is currently 5 months old), needs to live until at least 10 years old, because when Eddi turns 9 and DD2 turns 18 they are going to travel around Australia together in a campervan.
DD2 will drive, and Eddi will sit in the passenger seat and eat peppers.
Every night she will set up his run so he can have grass time.

Haha! Sounds amazing!

My guinea pig marge is 9 years old, she is slowing down and is on medication for arthritis. She still is happy and eats lots :-)
It will be a very sad day when I lose her :-(

My old boy Bubble is around 7.

I have had two girls over the years; both of which made it to eight. They were pretty sprightly too, and Molly broke her leg and had it successfully pinned when she was seven and a half.
