Olga Da Polga in CBeebies

I was hoping they would change the story a lot! Doesn't she get paired with a boar later and have babies! These stories could cause a lot of welfare problems at what is already a very difficult time.

My sister sent a complaint to the BBC. Because of "inappropriate housing" amd the fact the guinea pig was alone. They sent her an email back and said they have added a care guide to the website. (its the rspca and sspca guidelines)

To be honest i don't know about the rspca, but i dont rate the sspca at all with guinea pig care its a hit or a miss. I know they've homed trios of boars and piggies to live alone as "they cant live with others " *edit my sister has never kept her own guinea pigs, and learnt everything from me. 😂🙈Oops i must be very passionate about piggies. 😅

This is what I was expecting that guinea pig orders will end up doing, send BBC complaints. I know the show is just basing it on the book, but they should know that the book is really not up to the standards of today. Hopefully they get loads of complaints that they update the show.

Yes, his name was Boris! I named one of my childhood piggies after him! I really hope in this show he will be neutered or a female and will arrive on the show as a result of the people realising piggies need piggy friends.
I like that Olga has come from a rescue and not a pet shop tho.

I think that's a good step the BBC have taken. They can't take responsibility for providing their own information (ie getting an expert in to write something just for them wouldn't be viable and their expert would likely be RSPCA/sspca anyway). So they have linked to a resource that will be around for a long time and will be reviewed regularly (even an annual review with no information changing would be regular).
It would be great to have a link to more in-depth resources like the forum but, the nature of forums is they can just disappear overnight and then it's almost like being linked to no information again. They would also have to take responsibility for ensuring the information is credible which again they would need to hire an expert for.
