Oliver - Tumour Removed But Now Kidney Failure

You must be pulling your hair out with all that syringe feeding. It must be heartbreaking to see him picking up, then going down again. What a little monster. Lol
Willing for him to pick up for your sake & his.
Take care Laura sending healing thoughts to Oliver & hugs to you. xx

Oliver couldn't let you leave him for a day! No pressure then.
Glad he has rallied but no so good about the syringe feeding. What we do for our piggies x

Oliver was up at the front of the cage this morning asking for his breakfast :yahoo:. He had cucumber, bit of little gem lettuce, treat of piece of banana skin and posh hay. This was after having the 'doom' conversation with one vet on Wednesday. He is on borrowed time but just glad to have him stable and alert and doing piggie activities

Just read this after flushing Amos's abscess Laura. Here's hoping Oliver continues to put weight on.
Good luck with the abscess flushing Val, not fun. At least you have been taught how to do it by the Abscess Queen at TEAS! It is a lot about being determined which you absolutely are. Everything crossed for Amos.

I wonder how Debbie feels about being called the Abscess Queen!

Ha ha! The first time I saw I had been referred to as 'the abscess queen' I wasn't sure whether to be offended or pleased! However, I guess I could be called worse names! I am actually thinking of getting a t.shirt with 'abscess queen' on the front and 'I pick scabs' on the back! :yahoo:

Sad update but after that brief recovery this weekend, Oliver went downhill yesterday and was falling asleep mid-syringe feed and the spark in his eyes had gone. He had just lost the fight with his illness and I took him to the vet for the last time this morning. He went to sleep in my arms and it was very calm. So sad I couldn't save him after he had got through the tumour removal.
He leaves behind Fred who was really never meant to outlive lively Oliver so will have to have a think about him.

I chopped up his cucumber for him on autopilot this morning before I realised :(. Missing his little ginger face looking for me

So sorry to hear this.
No one could have done more or tried harder, and you made the right decision for him at the right time.
Plus he passed peacefully and knowing he was loved.
Huge hugs to you today from Switzerland.

So sorry to hear about Oliver. The love and dedication you showed him is wonderful. I hope Fred is OK, sending you both hugs. xx
