Ollie pigwig- gone to join Tallulah...

Huge shock, but handsome silver fox Ollie Pigwig left for the rainbow bridge last night to be reunited with his late wife Tallulah-oolah chocolate hippo.
Ollie came to us from @pig in the city as Tallulah-awkward-hippo's Plan B husboar after she spectacularly failed to bond with/chewed holes in my main herd piggies.
Ollie and Tallulah were a complete love match from the day they first met on Auntie @pig in the city 's kitchen floor. Travelled home in the same carrier, never more that 6ft apart, for 3 happy years until Tallulah left us in May.
Ollie was completely inconsolable, and wasn't ever quite the same afterwards- he tried his best to enjoy the company of new wife Hatty who joined him at the end of June, and she was fond of him, but it wasnt quite the same.
Ollie was a hilarious and iconic character with his suave good looks and wonky deformed back legs, his love of paper bags, his ingenious solving of tricky puzzle boxes, indulgence in naughty fruits on a sunday afternoon, relaxed naps, spectacular hay nests, and his love of brassicas of all kinds which didnt love him back and had to be strictly rationed because of his tendency to farty impaction events.
My gorgeous silver boy, the cleverest guinea pig I ever met, and the most devoted husboar- we hoped you could move on and find a new love, but you really couldn't live without your chocolate hippo wife, your health just went downhill and nothing could be done. Sleep tight now you are back together over the rainbow bridge and under the flower bed x

So sad for you but something lovely about thinking of them together again as they were so devoted.

Oh I am just so sorry to learn of Ollie Pigwig's passing. I knew that he never got over the loss of his beloved wife pig Chocolate Hippo Tallulah. They are reunited again at the Rainbow Bridge.

What a devoted husboar he was to his first love. I am sure even if he didn’t quite have the same love for Hatty, it was there nonetheless.

I am so very sorry to hear this @PigglePuggle . He was such a special boy and will be very much missed. He has had such a wonderful life with you and his wives, thank you for looking after him so well.. R.I.P Ollie x

He had a fantastic home, a lovely wife in his chocolate hippo, Tallulah, he was a very handsome character.
I think of Ollie every time I empty an egg box.
Be gentle with yourselves as you grieve.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, Ollie was a very special boy and he'll be missed very much, but he never quite got over losing Tallulah- he'd slowly lost weight and accumulated health problems, he had good days still but also grumpy sad painful days and he wasn't ever quite the happy boy he used to be, and this week he went downhill very fast and the vet said yesterday he was a much more poorly boy than anyone had realised.
He went over the rainbow bridge quite peacefully on his own during the night, just a few hours after his terminal diagnosis, saving himself from any stressful vet procedures and saving us from a difficult decision.
His recent companion young Hatty pig will hopefully be joining the main herd this weekend, paws crossed that works out for her- poor Hatty only knew Ollie for about 10 weeks, and she'd never had a companion before that, so I hope she can make lots of new friends and have a good life with us still- life is for the living, and she's very young and friendly, and a bit confused what happened...
 
I’m so sorry poor Ollie Pigwig couldn’t be separated from his gorgeous chocolate hippo wife for long, their bond was just too strong
💙❤️ Take heart they had a wonderful, fun filled life together and I’m sure Tallulah will be so happy to be with him again x

What a lovely tribute to a much loved piggy - the rainbow bridge has been very busy this week. He will now be his happy self again, popcorning with Tallulah.

Oh gosh that’s so sad to learn Ollie pigwig has gone to RB. He was a gorgeous handsome pigwig.
It was true love for Tallulah and Ollie and sadly his heart was broken when she left.
They clearly lived their best lives with you and your family and you can be proud of that and to witness that love.
All any of us could want. Together again and popcorning freely at RB .
Take care of yourself and I hope Hatty joins the herd happily 🥰
