AW thank heavens you have them.

Let us know how they are doing and give them a lovely christmas wont you?

I am horrified how callous people can be they could have least knocked on the door or rung the bell and then run off surely rather than relying on you finding them! Do not feel pressured into keeping them by the kids if you cant you can't and the best place for them would be in a rescue where they can find loving new homes!

Hope you manage to get lots of sleep! not likely with kids..... Have a merry christmas and enjoy them if only for a few days

i'm so cross... people are horrible... thankfully those babies have their own christmas angel.
well done you & good luck
xx

Sounds as if someones had a pregnant guinea pig themselves and ditched the babies before Christmas. I suppose you can say AT LEAST they dumped them on someones doorway instead of a ditch, altho there is no excuse for it. If someone was really stuck, a simple ask around or internet search for resecures is no hard thing to do.

oh God! That's really bad! Glad they ended up with you but how can people do this?! You could have been on holiday or anything! Grrr! It makes me so mad grrrr

Hope they are doing okay, sounds to me like you're doing exactly the right things tomake them comfortable and bring them round. What an ordeal for you (and them!) the last thing you need on Christmas Eve!

Big hugs to you hun xx

I can positively say it was NOT me who dumped the piggies on Sarah's doorstep! they are so gorgeous I would hve kept them to myself! Have you thought about the possibility that it could be someone who knows your kids?
Like Wiebke, I'll go check my front door now... I went out by 4-ish last night and there was nothing... phew! I had to go to the shops in the village... but not for some late Christmas shopping, oh no, I lost my nappy sacks (how unglamorous! but babies still poop at Christmas! :))) so I urgently needed some. Anyways... let me know how you get on with sexing them. Like I said, I'm here if you need... (apart from today when I'll be in Mcr).
Chin up! you're doing the right thing AND it's the miracle of christmas!x>>

next year i`ll have a sign saying no room at the inn!babies are fine this morning making very cute little wheeky noises.
angie also suggested the same that it could be someone who knows my kids, that is something to consider

you'll probably never find who it was but these 2 lovelies can thank their lucky stars...

No room at the inn? so what, next year all piggies to be abandonned in a stable? sleeping in a manger? I guess it's still in the Christmas spirit...

Glad they are doing okay hope your christmas day is a great one and thank you for taking such good care of the wee mites.

Happy Christmas to you and those little "pressies" of yours! :)p

I just needed to know how they were doing!

the babies seem to be doing great they came out straight away when this evenings servings of xmas dinner was served up and were munching away. cucumber is definately a favourite i need to take out shares in cucumber i think!

What a shock for you. But thank goodness they got to you. Sadly it is not unknown for this to happen to rescues too :( How are they doing now? What a fantastic difference you have made to these tiny souls - hopefully they will make a rapid recovery and will be giving you all sorts of grief very soon!

I am glad that the littl'uns are doing so well and seem to have come through their ordeal with flying colours!

You are doing a great job!

Not been on for a few days, just catching up, this is terrible! I've read a couple of threads lately where pet owners (by that I mean non rescues) have had piggies left on their doorstep or been approached by people wanting to hand over piggies - it is a little worrying that word is (incorrectly) getting around.

But as everyone else has said, it is lucky that you went outside! Hope that your Christmas was good Sarah and that they kids don't bother you too much to keep them if you aren't able to (how did they react btw?)

Now... Going to catch up on your thread with the pigtures..... :(|)

baby pigs are doing well they love their food rolleyes
of course my girls love the baby pigs rolleyes and with them being dumped xmas eve they think they are xmas presents/xmas miracles!

Not easy for you! Better play on the Christmas miracle theme and find them a new home soon!

Babies are really sweet, and you can't help becoming attached to them. However, they grow up fast, and you have to be able to provide the space, food and the medical care for them for quite a few years to come - not something that little children are thinking of!

Sorry, just seen this thread - what a shock for you. Those poor little piggies. What stupid person leaves them with no means of keeping warm. I am glad that they were left on someone's door step though and not dumped somewhere in the middle of nowhere. They are very lucky to have found you.

Glad to hear that they are doing well.

Just logged on for the first time for ages and read this - I am so very very glad you were there for those two babies and did all the right things for them. Thank you very much on behalf of all piggy slaves like myself! A very happy new year to you and your family....all of it!

OMG Sarah, I'm so shocked to read this (sorry not been on here for a few days). I can't believe the pure evil of some people, I'm just so glad that they were left with you - someone who will look after them well until they find their new home xx

I've only just seen this thread but... omg! That must have been a big shock! :{ Thank Goodness they were placed on someone's doorstep like you! If it was someone else, they might have not had a clue what to do and got rid of them! 8... Those two babies are very lucky to have been rescued by you! And when it comes to stuffing them up your jumper, as silly as it may sound, it was the best thing to do! :) Well done with helping these baby piggies!

Do you have houses over looking your garden? Cos if a neighbour had the babies and had seen you outside either with the G-pigs or rabbits, they might have thought you'd be the right person to give them to. (Although they did it in the most stupid way!) grrrr Maybe your girls had talked about having pet guineas at school... (that's if they're at school yet.) Their friends might have got the guinea pigs but then their parents might have decided they couldn't cope with them so shoved them on you? Good Luck with solving the mystery! ;) x

they learn quickly dont they?ive just been chopping onions and bits for our dinner and i keep hearing little wheeks and when i looked they were both sat by their food bowl!cheeky little things

What an awful thing for someone to do, especially at Christmas. Glad they are getting the proper care they deserve.
I rescued a young boar last week - he's gone from being a skittish wreck to a popcorning, wheeking happy chappy! They soon get used to the good life that's for sure. :)

How are the little ones doing Sarah, just really catching up on all this, been working all over Christmas. If you need any help, just shout, I have space.....or are you getting attached? lol xxxxx

Just read this thread. Well done you for looking after them. What a shock.

At least they were left with you and not someone else who couldn't give a damn about them. You must be their Christmas Angel!

I hope they are doing well.

Layla

You certainly are training them well ;):))

I agree! :(|) You really must be training them well! ;) Lucky things, they must love their new home! :)) Are you keeping them? It's hard not to get attached to baby guinea pigs! ;) Most people who say they're not going to keep an animal that they rescued usually end up keeping them in the end! :))
