Ok , so went into pets at home to get some hay , and.. they didnt have any of the small bags.
So i went and had a look at the piggies. They only had 2 in each pen and THEY HAD VEGGIES! i was sooo shocked! They had carrot and broccoli. Not much but the pigs were loving it sitting munching on hay, pellets and veg!

I think P@h are finally listening to us piggy lovers and are getting better.
They also have a range of willow toys and they have a offer on those natural stuffed paper tubes (the pigg cigars, lol) buy 1 and get the 2nd half price,.

xx

wow sounds good, the P@H nearest me had some cucumber and parsley in with the pigs last time i was in, and a lot of hay they were loving that lol! x

Pets at Home in St Helens do veggies as well although they use a big bowl for pellets that the pigs poop in! But overall they have improved in the store, just got to get them to get better fish experts! When we go in Peter and I end up coming out laughing our heads off...lol

Me and jay saw a sick fishy in P@H st helens a while back, they did seem genuinly concerned about it though to be fair, they wee ringing people etc! xx

Yeah it seems they are bucking up there ideas, some great treats, espcially them parsley bells, well worth £2.49.

Problem is with Fish they are imported in hundreds even thousands, then whatever the shop required they are then sent via courier to the shop, BTW I used to work in a shop that stocked a lot of fish. Say the shop orders 30 platies there is a change they could loose 10% or even more, but 10% is a good figure. They can get various diseases and if the tanks arent maintained properly they could catch disease from the previous occupants in the tank.

I can not remember what kind of filter system P@H uses but I have been to a few local fish stores(LFS) and they use 'central filtration', all the much from so many tanks go into one filter, cleaned and passed back out. Say there are 10 tanks per filtration and one tank gets white spot or fungal, because of the central filtration its more than likely the others will get it.

Aww thats good about the fish. We were told only to give them two flakes for a whole meal! Hmmm! It was probably just the individual, there are probably some great people who work at P@H ;D

Aw poor fish :( i was thinking at the time, how do you save a sick gold fish?! was dead sad! x

It is awful when they are sick, we have Cat fish, Lemon Tetras and Silver Tip Tetras in our tank we did have Rosy Barbes but they have all died now, one went all swollen and another kept swimming fast like he was in pain, you can't really go the vet with a sick fish although Peter has taken a goldfish to the vet before for ulcers! So I think I am wrong!

:D

wow really?! if people get funny looks at the vets for having piggies cant imagine the looks from people if you're sitting there with a fish on your knee ;D thats sad about your fishys though :( id feel really helpless with a sick fish! x

Haha yeah! I've always had fish for some strange reason! We have had baby cat fish and baby lemon tetras which makes up for them passing away! Aww its sad!

I know fish are not hairy cuddly but they still are living creatures.
Sometimes the easiest thing with fish is to seprate them off in a breeding trap, net etc and let them die in peace or cull them but I dont have the heart too.

I currently have a small 1ft square empty tank, awaiting the right Betta aka Siamese Fighting Fish or a trio or Guppies/Mollies so I can populate the large tank.
My large tank is a Juwel Vision 180 and currently has 1 female bristlenose, 3 male congo tetra, 8 x-ray tetra, 1 rainbow shark and 2 clown loach.

I popped into my local (P@h - not pub!) yesterday and I noticed they had carrot and broc in their food bowl too. O0 There was only one lonely piggy in the one section though, and he didnt touch it when I was there.... :(
