I just went to put away the pigs for the night.
I'd put woodshavings in earlier that evening. I looked at them just now and they had bloches of orange on them. I then went into panic mode. OMG were the pigs bleeding? I've just had them in and checked them over. In there mouths down to there nails. I cant see and thing wrong. I was more orange then red.
They seem normal , they were popcorning around the kitchen.
Yesterday i gave them a carrot - this sounds soo stupid but do wou think its dyed their wee? LMAO. It was an orange colour. I shouldnt be laughing but..

Oh dear.

are there any orange bits in their food? Funny you should say this because I noticed that there were some orangey patches on my piggies' hay, but I think it could be the bits in their food.. they've been playing ou ttongith and their wee is a normal colour, maybe it is the hay or the bedding..

beetroot will def dye there wee but pigs do do this and nobady seems to know why, well that is what the books say

mine have done this and i started to panick, but in a book i've got it says they do it from time to time, don't know why?

Could be the carrot, I would leave carrot out of their diet for a couple of days and see what happens. Mine have beetroot occasionally which makes their wee a purple sort of colour and their poops are purple too :D

OMG my spelling is bad i am so sorry ;D

If it is orange then dont worry only panic if it is red i.e blood
From time to time piggies wee does go abit darker and it reacts with the shavings making it go orange, its very common with piggies but obviously a little alarming the first time it happens.
If it continues then it may be worth getting your vet just to check the wee to make sure there isnt a high level of something, but normally it goes back to normal after a week or so. Check that he is drinking plenty and not dehydrated at all :)

It could be. I've noticed this happening, especially as they have started getting more and more carrots on a regular basis. Could well be their wee, it dyes their mouthes...
